As Ki just pointed out somewhere, we should perhaps bear in mind that with the revelation that Mikhail is alive and well comes the cleansing of any charges against Sir Locke! He is not a killer - he's a lover baby!

I feel like a weight has lifted from my soul..not only do i get back the most iconic Other since Benry gale back, but Locke gets his slate wiped clean. Now Smokey cant touch him (thoery) and Locke is free of any manslaughter charges!

Seriously tho - does anyone think that this will have a bearing on Lockes 'goodness'..or rather Smokeys/the islands view of his goodness?

He may not have killed him but he still set out with the intent to cause him injury. The fact that he's alive doesn't change anything really, apart from the charge against him. He still wanted to do something to injure Mikey. His slate is not clean.

I wasn't at all impressed with the way Locke chucked him through the sonic fence back in Par Avion, even though I don't believe that Locke's sole motive in doing so was to kill him.

But I am very glad that Locke still has 0 kills under his belt and although yes, Locke has the capacity to kill, he either doesn't do so (like with Eddie) or it turns out he hasn't killed at all (like with Mikhail). Locke's slate may not be the purest of white, but it's a heck of a lot cleaner than a lot of other people's I can think of...

Personally i never saw it as murder, i saw it as Locke making a misguided judgement call. In fairness they would have had no way to get Mikhail over the otherside without puching him through the fence really.

And even if i did feel Locke was a murderer i wouldn't feel comforted by this technicality just like Ben keeping his word by manipulating Locke to blow up the sub doesn't make him technically any better imo.

If Frank Duckett had survived being shot by Sawyer, i.e the bullet didn't actually kill him and he was saved in hospital, would you say that Sawyer was clean?

However hes technicaly not clean, since in Lockes mind, he isnt since he still belives he killed the bloke.

Mikky being alive changes everything - there was a massive debate a few weeks ago about Locke now being a murder/not a murderer - and the fact that Mikky is alive and well clears Lockes slate imo

I mean if Locke's is still culpable then one could argue that Charlie is a murderer because he explicitly stated that he wanted to kill Mikhail.. Personally i dont think this would make Charlie a murderer..neither would pushing a man through a gate and having that man turn up alive 1 week later

Personally i would say he was clean - of course i would, because how can one call anyone a murderer if they havent killed anyone

Had Duckett survived then i wouldnt call Ford a murderer - unfornutely Sawyer *did* kill Ducks'..

Furthermore Sawyer also killed an Other on the island (2x24)

Yes, he did. He may not have known that that fence "killed" but he had an idea that it would cause some injury, and when he shoved Mikey over it, he wanted to injure him. And the reason - to stop him blabbing about Locke being in a wheel chair.

It may take murderer off his slate, but it's like forgiving Sun for cheating on Jin in the first place, just becuase the baby is Jin's. IT makes no sense...the intent was there.

I just don't like how you can so easily forgive Locke for an act where he could've potentially killed someone, just because the person isn't actually dead. It makes no sense.

Nobody's saying he's a murderer, but we are saying that he was a murderer before we discovered that Mikey was alive. It's the fact that he did "kill" this man, and that he intended to hurt him in some way which is wrong. Especially due to the fact he was forgiven for it, and is now being praised as if he did nothing wrong. Other characters have been condemed for such acts.

No, you wouldn't have the right to call him a murderer. And yes, he did kill him, and that was wrong, (but yet so right if it had been true) but Sawyer being condemed for this means that Locke should be condemed for his "murder" even if afterwards it turned out by some miracle Mikey was alive, because it proved that on some level he had the idea to hurt someone in his mind.

He killed that Other in self-defence.
