lol, im not giving Jack my support..he's just come along way since the dark days of "Im right here..im right here..i'll be waiting" and he seems to now be more open minded to the Others and that. Also the fact that apart from the mid-drifters (Jin, Charlie, Hurley) the rest of the losties are so unlikeable gives Jack a higher ranking than he would otherwise receive. Not to mention that all of my Others are dead..and several of my fave losties (eko, ana, boone etc)are also dead ..well jacks laughing really

Well, at least he has something from you. I remember a time....long, long ago when Jack was very unloved, but now, at least he's getting somewhere. As long as that somewhere remains with the Losties he and I will be fine. But you're right, there have been many deaths....could explain why for other people too.

I like Jack because he always does his best to fix all the Lost characters when they're sick or hurt. Who can forget how Jack saved Charlie's life by not giving up on resuscitating him after he'd been hung by (Ethan?) He even stuck up for his rival for Kate's affections (Sawyer) when he could see that Sawyers rejection of Kate accompanying him on another jaunt had made her sad.

Pardon me for being sentimental but I thought the way he told Kate he loved her was so well done. Great acting and very believable. I liked the way he looked away from her and then raised his eyebrows in a "what the hell" kinda way and then just blurted out that he loved her - swoon!

He also tried his best to fix Boone too.

I like Hurley and Sawyer because they bring light relief and wit to the show.

I like Desmond because he's an interesting character. Being in the army and living in a monastery!

I like Kate because I can identify with her who do I love best dilemma.

Jack is without a doubt in my top 5, more specifically top 2/3.

Jack is without a doubt my worst ever character, and not even the likes of Ana-Lucia have prised him off that bottom spot

But oh, er, seeing as this is the True Jack Fans thread I suppose I should say that Jack...Jack has...well, I guess Jack...hasn't killed as many people as some others?

Umm, I think that yes he is actually Reed! Off the top of my head he certainly is, and at the moment I can't really think of any other character I've disliked so much. Sure I dislike characters from other tv shows, but none to the extent of Jack.

But then again I've never been so involved with any other tv show compared to what I am with Lost, so that's no doubt had an effect!

Wow. However good point regarding being more involved with Lost, as that would definitely play a part I feel. That really puts into perspective how much you hate him, if it were not clear already.

You like Gates more than Jack? Oh what a joyus day this is - I feel I should make note of this

Anyways, as for Jack - I like the guy, I'd say he's....4th or 5th on my top characters list. I haven't liked him as much during season four, so he slipped down to 5th, but season three Jack was awesome, lol.

Yeah I think the more you're a fan of a show and become very involved in it the more you get invested in the characters, be that for the better or for the worse. Lol oh I probably come across as some frothing at the mouth rabid Anti-Jack hater, but I just can't lie when it comes to talking about Jack and I really really don't like him. It's better to get the hate out then let it eat you up from the inside after all

Lol yes, the near unthinkable is true and I do prefer Gates over Jack. It's not that I actually like Gates I must make clear: it's just that he bores me and I couldn't really care less about him, whereas with Jack I actively dislike him and feel my mouth twitch unpleasantly as I simultaneously shudder whenever he's on screen...

Some of the few half decent Jack scenes are when he's in conflict with Locke since those two character play very well off one another, especially when Locke always comes across a million times better than his rival

Wow, I'm not quite sure how to respond, I may need a lie down . I'm sure, if Gates' love-life has exploded that the news that you like him more than Jack will comfort him in his time of need . Lol, I'm not sure which is worse - being boring, or being hated?

I agree. Jack and Locke play well off each other, it's very fun to watch. I especially like it when Jack has a gun to hand I also like Jack vs. Sawyer scenes coz it's always fun to watch when Sawyer gets the upper hand
