Default Has Jack Gone Down In Anyones Bad Books?

I know theres not alot of jack fans on here, but i know some of you 'dislike' him but 'respect' his decisions. Personally i like Jack but these past 2 episodes have rather changed my opinion drastically. I can see that he wanted Kate and co. to be released, but he seemed very otherish in this episode, For instance when he told Kate to answer the questions...

Hes not in my good books anymore, because these episodes made him seem rather selfish, He said he would get help or something along those lines, but hows that possible if theres no returning?

Well, he'll probably go down in my bad books after he gets his hands on Locke for seeming to blow up that submarine.

To be fair, Kate inexplicably didn't get round to telling him that he couldn't come back, but he didn't on the strength of it appear to be acting at his finest... did he request passage for anyone other than Juliet and himself? Why was he so blithely happy when he knew his fellows were still suffering back on the beach? Surely his own promise of freedom can't have made him forget all that? And who's to say there'll be anyone alive for him to rescue? He knows how unsafe that environment is.

Still, we can't have all the info yet. I sincerely hope there's a lot of stuff we don't know that'll make his behaviour clearer.

I would probably do the same as him. You've known these people, for what, 2 months...can you actually say that you would give up your chance of going home to stay with them?

He hasn't fallen in my estimation at all! That would be entirely impossible.

If anything, he gained more of my respect. He would have stayed to help Kate and Sayid, and make sure they were safe. And he planned to come back and rescue the Losties.

Y'know. I swear there was a "It's not that simple" comment by Jack in the (rather good) Jack/Kate scene. He said something like "you can't..."

Damn, I need a transcript - she was asking him about what they told him and he was trying to find the words, but then just seemed to get confused and give up.

Jack has gone down in my estimations a little to be honest, I can understand his pain at seeing Sawyer and Kate in an embrace, but he's been rather selfish - however we're still missing a piece of the puzzle and, although I may be the only one, I'm glad he's staying....AND JULES!

That's a good point. I suppose it would have wrecked Lost, if all of the Losties got off of the island they can't exactly get rid of the majority of the main characters..

Maybe it was because he planned to go back anyway, and none of the other Losties were with him. Or he may have thougfht it was dangerous and decided it would be safer to just risk his life, rather than more - we know he doesn't truley trust the others, he only did because Kate told him to, because he had to.

When they elect you as bona fide leader, you'd probably show some sort of loyalty...

I think we do have to admit that a lot of what happens in Lost is down to precisely this point....

It's rather convenient Locke blows up the submarine about 20 seconds before Jack & co get off the island.

I think this is the right bit:

Kate What did they do to you?!
Jack Nothing.
Kate Then why are you acting like this?
Jack There's no way...you...there's no way that I could...
Kate I came here to help you! So why don't you just tell me why you're...
Jack I told you not to come back here for me!
Kate I didn't think you meant it.
