But as murg said, why didnt he ask for permission for someone else to come with him on the submarine? And like i said above, he seemed to have abondend the losties...
That's a good point. I suppose it would have wrecked Lost, if all of the Losties got off of the island they can't exactly get rid of the majority of the main characters..

Maybe it was because he planned to go back anyway, and none of the other Losties were with him. Or he may have thougfht it was dangerous and decided it would be safer to just risk his life, rather than more - we know he doesn't truley trust the others, he only did because Kate told him to, because he had to.
Well it would stop Charlie complaining about air time

Yeah he probably was planning to go back and save them, but to me it seems he's abondend them by the way hes acting??

Bolded the part I was rambling about.

He's was being watched - remember Tom said something like "Watch what you say" and pointed up - before he started talking to Kate.

Plot thickens

DOUBLE EDIT: Not to mention this was almost a perfect copy of the Jack/Cindy scene...
And Jack stuttered at the same question that he had asked Cindy just a week or so ago

I can see where you're coming from. But he obviously does care about them. He was going to go back for them and he said 'of course' he would stay if his friends weren't to be set free. He was doing it in order to help them.

But there's also the un-bugged stuff. Who was listening when he said to Ben 'I know you don't owe me anything'? Where did that sentiment come from?

No problem

I don't think we know completley what went on. There must be something else, not something like brain washing, maybe they know something more. "There's no way...you..." this bit was almost like when Patchy said she couldn't understand. Maybe he knows or has seen something that he can't explain or can't say while he's being watched, that made him feel differently?

Like Locke and his 'bright light' when he looked into the eye of the island. He got as far as saying that it was "beautiful" and "a white light" which doesn't really give us much either...

Well its something to do with the Others camp, Because Cindy has probably been there.

I think this because When Jack asked cindy, he hadnt been to the camp but if she had, maybe she knows something... But when Jack has been there for a few days, he has learned about it...

Can't fault Jack at all.

He has known them only a few months, Kate is as selfish as anyone stringing both Sawyer & Jack for her own benefit, even the likes of Sawyer can not be trusted or even Locke, at least the others have always been the same with him, can't blame him for wanting to go home, he told Kate not to come back for him, she made her choice of choosing Sawyer whilst being held hostage and should of stuck to it.

Why was he so blithely happy when he knew his fellows were still suffering back on the beach? Surely his own promise of freedom can't have made him forget all that? And who's to say there'll be anyone alive for him to rescue? He knows how unsafe that environment is.

Still, we can't have all the info yet. I sincerely hope there's a lot of stuff we don't know that'll make his behaviour clearer.
Coz he's seeing things our way now..he's realised that we were right all along and that Ben is the provider of opportunity..an oportunity which he wouldnt otherwise of had. Yes, the kidnappings werent ideal..but boy does this prove that when in this situation, we'd all be thanking Ben for saving us..we'd all realise that there is a bigger picture.

Vindication for the Others..methinks

Oh, rot. :P It proves nothing of the sort. At present we just don't have enough info for it to make sense: all it currently indicates is that Jack is easily swayed into throwing aside his integrity about how he considers his own treatment (offering someone the escape you're capable of providing at a physical and emotional cost is not decent behaviour) and his concerns for other human beings if it means he gets a shot at freedom (from a man who then did what he could to deny that freedom anyway - thanks a bunch, Ben). There are still a lot of very frightened and confused and endangered people back on that beach, and if the promise of going home is enough to make him smile and skip about in spite of that knowledge, then he doesn't have much in way of a heart. Though, as I say, we need a lot more info.
