I dont know now, i HATED him in S1 and 2, then i started to like him in the start if S3, now i hate him again. So Hate.

Right Jack really is a funny one for me. In S1 I hated him with every essence of my heart and soul. He was such a whining, ignorant, conceited person, who I saw as being the goody goody hero that has as much substance as a stepped on egg. You just knew that if something was going to be done that hero Jack would be the one to do it and would usually bugger it up due to some emotional outcry. That's another thing his emotions. Now fair enough I can give a man some leway if his wife left him with no warning nor obvious reason, but it was at any cause possible. I mean I think it was ATBCHDI where any take he would be crying! Yes S1 Jack was bottom of the list.

However in the last two seasons he has steadily rose in my opinion. I think it was The Hunting Party that finally turned my opinion of him, I mean we actually saw a stronger side to Jack, a Jack with a little more substance than a whiney cry baby. And this has been further enhanced by S3, where with his partnership with Juliet he has been one of the better characters in the Season, far surpassing characters who used to be above him. S3 has been a very good season to him but y'know there's always the possibility of him turning back to S1 Jack.

And so I'm going for Bad Character but I Like Him. Well I don't mind him now but that wasn't an option

I really don't know. Well, I do. I don't like him... but I don't absolutely hate him in the way I did in the first two seasons, when he was just your typical firm-jawed all-American do-gooder charisma-free action hero. I thought he was a rubbish and uninspired choice for a lead role. And really that's still mostly what he is. But he's in extremis. He's still essentially boring, unimaginative, scene-killingly dull when left to his own devices. But he's quite the victim and I do feel sorry for him, and appreciate the depths of his anger and frustration. He's a right to be the way he was before the whole football debacle.

Then again, I always knew I was firmly on the Jack side of the promised faith/science debate that never really materialised (with the caveat that, on that very weird island, I would not actually ignore the evidence of my own eyes and declare that there couldn't possibly be anything remotely sinister in the hatch). But as characters go, Jack could never hold a candle to Locke. So in spite of my general aversion to his views on faith... Locke won.

Hes such a boring son of a gun. But hes a better boring son of a gun this season then last season

I do prefer him when hes with Juliet. But not when he shouts.

I hate when hes with Kate

I can't say I really like him...but I suppose his character is an okay one and fundamental to Lost.

I used to like him but he's gone way down my list.

I voted “He's a good character and I like him” but I do think his character could be better. I see where the writers are coming from with him but there he could do with a bit more animation and it might go in his favour if he didn’t dominate the flashbacks so much

He's one of my favorite characters... that was untill the last episode Now he's been placed in my judging box untill next weeks episode

Ideally id have voted for 'Hes an ok character but i dont like him' but seeing as that wasnt one of the options i went for "Hes a good character but i dont like him."

I dont think the character is amazing on his own but i think hes rather important to the show in general.
And i dont like him one little bit.

I like Jack, he's a good character. I've always liked him, but more this season than before.

He's a bit of a tit sometimes, that is undeniable, but I don't dislike him.

To be honest, I don't really dislike any of the characters - I wouldn't really want any of them to die. My mindset seems strange when compared to everyone else's on here. ie. " John Locke must die!", "Liquidate Kate!", "Paulo should kick the pan!".

I'm the same (with the exception of Pickett!) I dislike some, but I don't hate any, I don't see how you could, especially the Losties. Watching Lost must be almost like a chore for some people I couldn't imagine hating any of the Losties

Ah Jack, my least favourite person to set foot on the island!

It's true that the show would suffer if he died or left, since a lot of the main plots - including the godawful Jate/Skate stuff - include him, and his interaction with certain characters - like Locke and Ben - are just great to watch, but my gosh Jack is a dreadfully dull boy. I honestly think that a sack of frozen peas has more charm, personality and charisma than he does...Jack's a master when it comes to sobbing your eyes out, treating people to smug grins and having a loud rant and a rave, but when it comes to having genuinely compelling screen presence and a character I care about in the slightest he's down there with wooden Kate.

I don't have a death wish for Jack since I really do think the show would suffer without him, but when I don't want to tip him over the edge of a cliff I'm utterly indifferent towards him.
