The man is a great character but unless he stops his constant swarmy grinning and his brash defiance in the face of Others then i fear we'll have to introduce the LC's first slap-O-meter

And just what is so wrong with being a hero? He's not always baiting them, he's just trying to work out what's going on. I mean THEY are the one's who kidnapped him and locked him up...he has a right to know.

He does not have a closed off mind, just one of a doctor. Scientific and logical.

No, I will not allow you to hurt him. Sawyer was defiant to the others, so was Kate...heck, if I was in his place, I'd be defiant. I wouldn't give them the satisfaction. He doesn't deserve anything bad happening to him, he's a good guy.

(And I don't want you damaging his pretty face! )

Sometimes, although it does alarm me slightly that I've spent several days defending one of my least favourite characters (though that's always been moreso because he's too blandly perfect than because he's evil - the fact that his wanting to help people too much was set up as his major character flaw is a bit sickening). All those years spent cowering to the iron fist of Christian has certainly left him with a few screws loose (grappling with women, calling out foes to the line, handing out guns to untrained hands, beating an elder, beating up his pops, etc..)..and although saving people is a good thing and i wont bash him for it (well..), it does make me wonder, just how 'damaged' Jack actually is, that in order to have a brief moment of happyness, he must save someone. What an infliction to have..indeed.."Damaged Goods"..unlike Kate to be so apt, but by jove, she hit the nail on the head back in 1x19 (spread the news, Kate had an 'apt' moment! )

LOL..nah not swarm as in bees Swarmy as in overbearingly cheeseballish and sarky in an unintelligent way which is oh so Jack when he's in defiance mode
