I don't find Jack all that attractive to be honest, maybe it's cause I keep seeing sigs where he looks completely ridiculous

Yes, I was wondering if it's relevant in some way. Maybe it's there as part of the science/faith storyline?
Before anyone says it, I'm aware that the faith element does not necessarily have to include religious aspects.
