If any of the Losties was involved in the accident with Hurley, wouldn't they remember him? So you have to come up with a reason why they don't remember him. Libby went mad, I suppose.

But then, Hurley was all over the news when he won the lottery, but nobody remembers that either!

Thats an exciting possibility. Hurleys accident is what got Locke into the wheelchair. I think the timing is about right too. What I remember is that Locke is supposed to have been in a wheelchair for 4 years before flight 815. Enough time for Hurley to get in and out of Santa Rosa, win the lottery, realise he has had a string of bad lock ever since.

I don't think Locke would remember anything about the accident, that kind of amnesia happens a lot. And, if the deck was over crowded, Hurley would not stand out. And the other way round - Hurley would not remember any of the other 22 people.

Having read this thread I don't understand how some people got Shannon and Jack linked to the same accident. Wasn't that a car crash?

Thank God!!!That's what i was trying to point out earlier, if Locke was involved with the crash and left paralysed, then surley Jack would have had to treat him, he was the specialist.
I do think that it was Hurleys accident that Locke was injured in, just because they don't remember each other doesn't mean it didn't happen...look at all the other connections where poeple met or seen and don't remember.

Maybe Locke was treated by Jacks dad instead? Maybe Jack was on holidays in Phuket at the time or something.

If Locke was in the same car crash with Shannon's dad and Sarah (which personally i don't think he was) then Jack would have been there because Jack chose to treat Sarah over Shannon's dad, his dad could of treated him but i still think he would have seen him.

Sorry, left out too many words there.

On page 1 someone suggested Hurleys accident was where Locke lost the use of his legs (I like the sound of that!) but it also killed Shannons dad and got Jacks wife into hospital where they met. So in that sense Shannon and Jack would be linked to Hurleys accident. But all I'm saying is it can't be because it was a car crash and Hurley made a deck collapse.
