Synopsis

"Through the Looking Glass" is the 22nd episode and 2-hour finale of Season 3 of Lost. The episode was originally broadcast on May 26 (UK), 2007. Events come to a head as the Others engage the survivors at the beach. Meanwhile, Jack relentlessly leads the group on toward rescue, whilst Charlie struggles to finish his mission at the underwater station. This episode was the first to use a flashforward instead of a flashback.

Since Sky One are not airing the official ABC 3.23 special edition re-airing of 3.22, we are using the build up to the UK S4 Premiere by having our own 3.22 rewatch, which coincides with the final episode of our Season 3 rewatch.

My DVD didn't want to play part one for some unknown reason..however I soon forgot about that upon seeing Jack in his car with the music blearing out. That whole coffin scene is interesting everytime I see it.

Incidently does anyone know what Jack utters just before he pops his pill? I'm sure he says something?

Hi crystaltips here. This is my first post and I am desperate for help. I dont get Sky one and watched most of season 3 on alluc.org. To my horror I have found out they have had to remove it from their listings. Can anyone help a desperate fan by telling me where I can find on the net to watch it, perferably free but of course I would pay to watch if I knew the website was safe. Can anyone help, PLEEEEEEEASE>

I think he says 'Oh forgive me,' but I'd have to check. Someone he feels guilty about not believing perhaps, or he did something to that person that eventually resulted in their death.

Ah, according to a transcript he doesn't actually say 'forgive me' before popping a funeral pill, he says 'Damn it.' Quite right too Jack, because drugs are wrong...

I take it Jack himself wrote the popups..

Or bribed someone to write it for him!
Was probably on the verge of tears anyway, and the author wasn't prepared to have his day ruined by seeing that so he just gave in

tbh i could do without the flashforward i think it could be reduced in length as it does go on

but lets talk about Charlie - Why does his finest moments have to be his last? why? tell me why? I love the moments when he is tied to the chair (not because he is tied to the chair or anything) I love the way he banters and jokes with B&G and the way he takes control of everything that is going on knowing that he is more than likely to die - what a hero

Ah yes, that would make sense..I think for some reason I couldn't remember him saying that, but now I recall hearing him say "damn it" before he knocked it back.

My mind is already on 4.01 an so there's not much more I can say about this episode right now, except that it was skillfully executed and brilliant. As finales go this was one of the best I have ever seen from any show - that includes LOST itself.

It amazing because it gave us so much to speculate about...speculation that has lasted 9 months, and knowing us LOST fans, could have lasted another 3 months before the juice began to run dry.

I don't think I can pay an episode any higher compliment than that. And whilst 1.04, 1.19, 3.13 and 3.20 might be some of my favourite all time episodes, this one is right up there because even those individual episodes would struggle to match "TTLG" in terms of finale-worthy cliff-hangers, speculation and sheer dramarage.

Exceptional and utterly, utterly brilliant.

Re-watch value: 10/10
