ONE OF US ![]() The sixteenth episode of Season 3 is Juliet’s flashback, where we learn more about how she came to be on the island. As Juliet arrives at Mittelos Bioscience she says goodbye to her sister Rachel, promising that she’ll be back in time for her to give birth, and meets with Ethan and Richard Alpert. Richard hands her a glass of orange juice and says that it contains a tranquilizer, because the journey ahead will be quite intense. Reluctant at first Juliet drinks it and the next thing she knows she’s waking up on a submarine, before it docks and Ben greets her as she arrives on the island. Three years after being on the island Juliet has formed a relationship with Goodwin, and is the one to show Ben the x-rays of his spinal tumour. After seeing flight 815 crash overhead, Juliet and Ben visit Mikhail in the Flame, where Ben proves that her sister is still alive and has given birth to a boy. Juliet pleads to go home, but Ben says she has to stay until her work is finished. Months later Juliet is seen discussing a plan with Ben; a plan where she will be left handcuffed with Kate and taken back with her in order to infiltrate the Losties’ camp, where she will gain trust by ‘curing’ a sickness in Claire caused by an implant left in her. Meanwhile on the island Juliet is brought back to the camp along with Jack, Sayid and Kate, and the other survivors are wary of her, even though Jack appears to trust her completely. Claire suddenly becomes ill, and Juliet admits that she has caused this but that she knows what to do to put it right, and brings back a case of medication from the jungle, even though Sayid and Sawyer try to stop her. Juliet administers the medication to Claire and seems to have begun to fit in with the camp as she prepares her shelter.

Ok so this and the last episode are quite good really
Though this is better than the last one. I think I just get bored when I look at Juliet, though she's a good character really.

I do like this episode, very much so, but interestingly I seem to have more negative things to say lol.
Firstly I really hate Jack in this episode. Well more than normal anyway. Despite how much I love Jules I can understand Sayid and Sawyer's, as well as the other Losites feelings towards her, specifically Sayid's wanting answers from her. Yet Jack suddenly decides that he chooses when Sayid can speak, and when Jules will answer things. Go away Jack you egotistical gimp! ![]() Also this is the infamous one episode dropping of Sawyer as leader. We'd spent all of the side story of last episode billing Sawyer as leader yet straight away Jack comes back and instantly resumes role as leader. Now unless they're preparing to make Sawyer leader material in S4 it was completely pointless. That was pointless writing writers! However Jules does give this episode life imo. Yet I do think that you kind of need to like Jules to like this episode. It's much the same as The Man From Tallahassee. I don't like Locke therefore I'm not fussed much on the episode. For me she's so brilliantly hard to read, unlike Jack and Kate for example, thus making her such a good character. Plus how can anyone harbour any ill thoughts towards Jules after seeing the departing scene outside the gates of 'Mittleos' with Rachel ![]() Re-watch rating: 8/10.

Oh Jack's just awful in this episode! 'She'll answer your questions when she's ready. And you'll wait until she is. She's under my protection.'
I bet the beach camp just loved having that shoved in their faces from their newly returned dictatorial and all-powerful leader...I didn't find this a brilliant episode, but it's certainly not bad and Juliet does have quite an engaging backstory to her, especially when it's compared to the latest dire flashbacks from Kate (Left Behind) and Jack (Stranger...) The reveal at the end of the episode was nicely done, where it's shown that she is actually working for Ben and has successfully infiltrated the Losties' camp. And like JB said it was a complete waste of time setting up Sawyer to be the (temporary or not) leader of the camp, only to have Jack immediately come back and start throwing his weight around in the very next episode. Just like Jack and Ana's 'army' in S2, this is unfortunately a story line that lived and died in the space of one episode.

Yeah she relly was! And you could also argue it both ways: that she was really on the outside of the Others looking in and living their life, but not truly being one of them. Just like she's not really one of the Losties even though she's now living their life.

..haven't rewatched this yet but that made me laugh..I can remember Jack saying that..ahh, gotta love him. Silly man, not knowing that given half the chance Juliet would stick the knife so deep in his back that even he'd have trouble fixing that wound![]() Quote:

I think this episode has potential to be much better than it is. I feel that there are lots of questions that arise but quite frankly a large proportion of the episode bores me (mainly the dialogue).
Quite like the bits when they are walking from the barracks to the beach with Sayid being suspicious, Kate’s obvious jealousy, Jack trying to be masterful and Juliet being evasive. I can’t help but feel that when Ben tells Juliet that Sabine knew what she was doing that Ben is the sole fertiliser (so to speak) on the island Why does Ben need to radio Mikhail before approaching the Flame who else would Mikhail be expecting other than the Others (815 had just crashed so he wouldn’t be expecting them) could it be Danielle has been pestering him or is there someone else on the island or is Mikhail just plain paranoid Why when Juliet tells the Losties that the body rejects foetus does no one ask her how Danielle managed to have Alex (I would have thought Sayid at least would pick up on that one) Why does Juliet need one of those x-ray light things in her home office if she is a fertility expert then I can’t see should would have much need for doing x-rays especially not for such a small community |

Well yes but I think its fair to say that anything Danielle says should be taken with a pinch of salt and of course when Danielle came up behind Mikhail and Sayid as they were walking away from the flame Mikhail certainly looked (to me anyway) as if he recognised her voice. And if she hadn’t been there before why did she not want to go in and explore it with Locke and co.
