I know there have been threads which have touched upon this issue but I think there has never been a thread for it.
I have been watching some S2 episodes recently and feel that ALOT of little things will never been explained in the end. I just feel that there is not enough time, or even the 'relevance' to explain them in S5 or S6. I could very well be wrong however. Will these EVER been explained? What were the Others specifically doing to/with Walt? Why did the Others take blood from Michael? Who was Henry Gale? Was there an actual purpose for the Swan? Which mysteries and plotlines do you feel will be simply forgotten in place of the bigger mysteries?

1. I love your sig Reed
![]() 2. I'm hoping they'll touch on Henry Gale, he was on the island and they've surely got to explain why and who he was. I can't think of anything off the top of my head but I'm sure as I rewatch Lost there will be some questions that havent been answered. |

Good thread Reed.
I've often thought Season 2 is misplaced. Almost like they were creating extra for teh story as they did not know Lost would be only 6 seasons at the time. For all the producers knew they had 9 seasons to do. So I feel most of Season 2 was padding. I mean we will also never know why Walt appeared to Shannon and why was he wet? Where Vincent goes to will never be explained I also feel the Henry Gale story was a wasted opportunity to perhaps expand Eko's story (another smuggler looking for the drugs) or maybe Rose. Maybe he could of been Rose's first husband or something. Its almost worries me that they are making certain storylines up. Michael is now almost certainly dead but liek you say we will never know what really happened to him. His death was kind of rushed. Kind of like 'best kill him off as it means we don't have to explain what happened and concentrate on the Widmore/Desmond plot instead.

![]() Hopefully it was not purely a device to introduce Ben and set up the Michael plot. In nearly every episode I find things that I feel will never get explained. Quote:
Good point, I think they have even somewhat admitted to this when explaining the confirmation of 6 Seasons gave them a more distinct direction. I feel S2 had LOTS of elements that were never intended to be touched upon again but were meant to keep us intrigued at the time. Great spots abbott, I completely agree with those. Well hopefully the woman that Gale left the note for is relevant to the show. Well I think the timing of Michael's death tied in nicely with the Finalé, but it sadly means we will never know anything more about him unless he appears in a flashback which after his rants about the show will likely NOT happen. To be honest, even if he was alive I very much doubt we would get these answers. Quote:

I think most of my questions are about Walt.
One of Lost's Missing Pieces shows that whenever Walt gets angry, birds end up crashing up against windows! We saw this dead bird phenomenon happen once before when Walt lived with his stepfather. I think The Others did want Walt but I think the bird thing made them change their mind about him. Walt's stepfather also seemed keen to see the back of Walt after seeing the dead bird incident at his own home. The questions about Walt could be explained because it did look like they were going to reintroduce Walt to the show. Perhaps Walt will be given a flashback from his time in captivity with The Others? PS I would guess they took blood from Michael to see if Walt got his strange abilities from the paternal or maternal side of the family.

I think Walt should come back to the show full-time, because we have Michael's death to explore from his point of view. Hopefully we could also explore Walt's abilities further and he could put them to use in the fight against Widmore? A Walt flashback is unlikely because his voice has broken. Oh, you mean they compared Michael and Walt's blood?

Hi Reed,
![]() Yep! I forgot about Walt's voice but maybe it could be a flashback showing only The Others. The Missing Piece about Walt is done in this same way. They are talking about Walt, but you never actually see him; but you get lots of clues as to what happened while he was with them. It looked to me like they were scared of Walt! Could be why they let Walt and his Dad leave the island. Please check out Walt's Missing Piece - you'll like it! They must have taken a sample of Walt's blood and took Michael's too. I suppose a twist to the tale could be that Walt wasn't Michael's child? I'm really speculating now! ![]()

Well they seemed quite strict with him when they brought Walt into the tent to see Michael. You may be right, though I always thought it was because they had no use for him afterall. Well I suppose they may have just been checking they were in fact related, though not sure why that was relevant in their eyes.

Another topic I am totally intrigued about is the time Jack came back to the Losties camp with Juliet in tow.
Sayid and Sawyer wanted to question Juliet but Jack prevented it. However Sayid did ask Juliet a question and she replied along the lines of: "If you knew who I was, you'd kill me." I wish I could remember exactly what she said (can anyone help me with this?) but more importantly WHY did she say that? I'm dying to know. To add to this we see Juliet in a Lost Missing Piece right before the Book Club meeting. The Missing Piece is called The Envelope and Juliet tells an elderly Other lady that they are in Big Trouble. She then says: "If I show you something do you promise not to tell anyone"? Juliet then gets out The Envelope but the doorbell goes and she doesn't get to show it to The elderly Other lady - what was THAT about? Was it something to do with Widmore?
