What was the exact wording of the message that Charlie relayed to Hurley to give to Jack?
Was it: "You're not supposed to raise him"? Meaning Aaron. Or: "You weren't supposed to raise him"? Meaning Charlie - raising him from the dead (after he was hung by Ethan). Of course the last one wouldn't make sense in one way because it is Charlie actually saying the words so he should have said: You weren't supposed to raise me - but is that really Charlie saying those words? Or an impersonation of Charlie? Food for thought! |

I just looked it up to double check and it was "You're not supposed to raise him"
[http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Hurley], but that is a good spot nonetheless M.A ![]() Though it is interesting to think about how long Charlie was Destined to die for. Though he served a "meaningful purpose" before Desmond's 'flashes' so perhaps he was meant to be saved at the point in time.

As this progamme is LOST and anything can and does happen, perhaps I won't write off my "raising" theory completely then.
It could be that Jack and the other Losties have to go back to the island and things have to play out in a different way with Jack not raising Charlie from the dead and not raising Aaron either! ![]() Desmond said that corrections have to take place to put things back on the course they were supposed to take. Jack's stubborness in wanting to get them off the island and raising Charlie from the dead may have caused destiny problems and now they must be corrected! Double post, sorry.
Not sure how that happened.

I like that theory. Mrs. Hawkings stated that paths are corrected so the past CAN be corrected. I wonder that if Charlie were "supposed" to die and Aaron was not supposed to be raised by Jack, then the old theory of 'two forces' being at work is very apparent. We have seen this in many instances, with Locke in particular where his Journey encountered MANY obstacles and even defeats in a sense [losing his Faith, losing Boone, nearly killed by Shannon]. SO many things have taken place that it is near impossible to pinpoint occasions where IT all went wrong. Interesting to note that the Universe was willing to "Course Correct" Charlie dying [i.e. trying to kill him], however it did not Course Correct the O6 leaving - or MANY other events for that matter.

Yes, the same could be said for Sayid. Didn't he save his future wife's life when he was in the Republican Guard only for her to be killed later on in the programme.
I'm a mod on another forum and forgot myself and nearly tried to delete your duplicate post! ![]() Last edited by Miss Austen; 06-28-2008 at 02:05 PM. |
