What are your general first impressions of Ray?

Do you like him? If so why, if not then why not?

What role do you think he'll play etc etc

Share your opinions and see if they change over time

I'd say 'There's Something Not Quite Right About Him'. He just seems a little too comfortable with the whole conscious switch thing. I know he's gone through it with Brendan and Minkowski, but still he seems a little too relaxed around it. There's an eerie calmness about it that makes me uncomfortable. Even when Sayid went on the one man wrecking crew mission he stayed completely calm. Plus he seemed a little to happy about administering that needle

But that's probably just me.

Yeah, there's something odd about him. He'd make me feel uneasy. Seems pleasant on the surface, but there's something else brewing within that man, imo.

I think he may be Ben's spy. But that might be what they want us to think.

Who's Ray? Okay, I know now, but I'm afraid I'd completely forgotten who Ray was at first. Um ... don't know. Nothing obviously offensive, but vaguely mysterious doctors treating people who can barely remember their own names are always a bit sinister. I'm being massively unfair. But he made me slightly nervous. I just get the general feeling that the people still on board the boat have different motivations and are possibly more in the know than the poor folk who actually got sent out to the island. With the probable exception of Miles.

hes professional thats for sure.

has the bedside manner down to a tee, but i can see that there is a little anxiety when it comes to this type of syndrome.

Id say overall hes alright.

There's Something Not Quite Right About Him..

He reminds me of a Zombie from Day of the Dead which a scientist was trying to house train, atleast I think it was that movie. So I am off to a bad start. He frightens me quite frankly but are first impressions generally anything to go by? I am sure he will turn out to be 'okay', he is obviously just a serious individual. So long he does not go around sticking needles into Desmond, Ray is okay by me.

Originally I thought the 'light stick' [in the picture above] was some kind of device made to look like a light stick - anyone agree?

There's something not quite right about him.

He seems way to comfortable with the whole concious mind switch thingy. I know he's supposedly experienced to at least twice beofre but he seems way to calm about it. He was a little creepy.
Then again he has a better bedside manner than Jack.

I think he has dealt with it pre-Freighter judging by his reaction. A Doctor/Scientist who experiences new discoveries/illnesses etc [such as this Sickness] would have been quite excited and energised [take Faraday for example at Oxford]. But Ray was excessively calm. It is nothing new to him imo - it was like he has dealth with it hundreds of times before. I could be wrong however.

The Sickness may exist in other places too, i.e. other than the Island. It would seem Ray was recruited not just because he was the first Doctor Abaddon found, but because he was specifically suited for the mission - as we have seen with the other Freighters.

Two men of science exchanging views over a cup of tea, perhaps? Then again, Jack hasn't been too friendly with Faraday, so perhaps not.
