You know I kept expecting him to pop up at the end and go "Boo!!" or somthing.

But i cant belive that you peole are justifing his brutal murder like that I have no sympathy for the man, but that was horrendous of Sawyer, just attrocous, he has gone down in my estimation now.

Frankly, it can't be seen as anything other than justice, even if you're against murder/capital punishment, like I am myself.

It's like saying it's a shame Hitler killed himself, or that Saddam was hanged - you can't really have sympathy for these people.

I actually wanted Locke to kick him a few times to make sure that he was dead. I think most people put in the same situation as Sawyer would have done the same thing, he had ruined Sawyers life and then showed no remorse whatsover.

Incidentally, I feel Cooper was so remorseless because he actually believed he was in Hell - his behaviour towards an angry Sawyer I felt showed he didn't really care about his life.

A different reason for being glad that he's gone was that he'd grown utterly cartoonish. I thought that was the one real downside of this episode: Cooper's evilness was just getting too much really. I appreciate that he could be as flippant as he liked if he truly thought he was in hell, but I found him a stronger and more striking character when the only crime we knew he'd committed was the uniquely twisted, imaginative and cruel kidney-theft. Pushing people out of windows, biting and generally behaving like a psychotic dictator type was taking him too far into the realms of comedy.

I realised when Locke told Sawyer that he had captured Ben that it was actually Cooper but part of me was hopping that he had both of them imprisoned

I dont have sympathy for such people, and yes Im not sorry they are gone.

But I have said on another thread, that sort of justice if you put it, is not anyones to take. You become has bad has the monster that you kill in the first place by doing that.

Well, suicide's quite a different matter and assination would've been universal defence. A controlled execution remains, in my view, something else - while I'm sure we're all aware that no-one could have any sympathy for the named people (Cooper included) and that the world can easily argued to be a materially much better place for their absence, the fact that other humans beings had a willing hand in any sort of subsequentlly 'justified' killing is, in my view, the real cause for deep societal regret here.

He totally deserved it - and by Sawyers hand too. He had no remorse for what he did and if you are prepared to take another man's life so easily and in cold blood you can expect redemption.

As Locke so rightly said, 'he had it coming.'
