I think Murg puts it perfectly........
Ah, too kind. I think I put it confusedly myself....
No probs...

Exactly what I would hav written had I had the mental capacity

I said before your post how I felt that marriages fail and sometimes cheating happens, however in Sarah's case she showed remorse. So she deserves some points for that, as wrong as it was, she could have been a right *itch about it. However her pain and anguish over her cheating and leaving Jack was heartfelt.

So what these people are saying is that divorce is wrong, NO MATTER WHAT! , and that Sarah was wrong to leave Jack. I don't agree with that. She was wrong to cheat yes, but not wrong for leaving Jack, imo.

Susan was purely out for her own interests and was just plane evil in the whole Walt issue. Very nasty woman indeed. That's his kid for christ sake!
I dont think that divorce is wrong no matter what - we can only take each situation on its own merits..and for me, what Sarah did..and the way in which she went about it was just plain wrong. Were gonna disagree here but i just feel that she owed the man a little more respect and dignity. I mean you dont marry someone and then just up and leave..i mean where was the pre-curser? where was the trying to work it out? Surely Jack wansnt that bad a man..she loved him once..didnt he deserve more?

I can't believe im sticking up for Jack!

Also, i can't see much of a difference between her actions and Susans. For me they are both horrid for what they did and more importantly, the way in which they went about doing it..but Susan was just as remorseful as Sarah..if not more so imo.

Mike has always been in my top 3, even throught the Ana debacle, and whilst i appreciate his pain and the love he has for his son, at least he would always have his son. Even if he had to wait..at least he had him..and from what Klugh said it seems as if Mike was actually getting 'visits' from Walt, whist he was supposed to be in Amsterdam...

As for Jack 'fixing' her, the woman shouldnt have to feel like she has to be with him forever. Jack is a doctor and was doing his job, he would have done the same to any other patient. Sarah doesnt have a duty to stay with him because he helped her get better.
Exactly.

I certainly hope that Jack wasn't the kind of doctor who helps a patient in the hope that they'll put out and remain his 'property' forever. j/k

It's a toughie. Personally I would say that what Sarah did was slightly more destructive. I dont deny Michaels pain and I love him for the pain that he displayed at the loss of his son..but at least Walt was always his - for Jack to lose Sarah left him with nothing..not even the comfort that Sarah was still his and that they could one day be together again. Michael always had hope...Jack had none..he was left crushed and destroyed. And I personally dont see Susan as being anymore callous than Sarah - if anything she seemed more upset at her actions that Sarah did (imo). I have no love for Susan, but Sarah left jack without hope..at a time when he needed her the most..

I suppose it comes down to interpretation, but thats the way i see it. Theyre both witches though.
I don't understand how you could possibly even compare the two.

Walt was a child and it wasn't his decision to stay away from his father and not receive his letters. His mother made the decision for him and destroyed their chances of having a father-son relationship all those years.

Sarah was an adult who has the right to decide on her own will who she is going to be with. She didn't take away a child from Jack. She just left him because she didn't love him anymore. What was she supposed to do? She is not his slave or his property. And - I'm not joking this time - I am shocked that anyone believes that a patient should be forever obliged to be PAYING the doctor who has cured them, through sex/relationship. which is basically what you are arguing here.

He's a doctor. He should be helping people without expecting any kind of reward (and off the island, it was also his job that he was paid for. Well paid, I'm sure).

And as for the matter of telling Jack who her lover was... How exactly would it have made anything better for him, or anyone? She was also probably reasonably worried that he might start stalking the man too, maybe attacked him. Remember what he did to his dad at his AA meeting.

I don't see any evidence that there was anything going on between Sarah and Christian. We know that the guy was not Christian. Seems to me like Jack was just venting his insecurities and Freudian issues with his father.
