Could he have deliberately lead Desmond away from the swan on the day of the crash at that specific time so that he would not be able to get back in time to push the button therefore causing the plane to crash? If he is actually a member of the others including Ben and Juliette of course...

well it wasn't the first time kelvin had gone out the hatch was it? and it wasn't as though he was walking around the hatch with a huge rip in his "protective suit" so he might not have known desmond was going to follow him.
but i suppose it is a good theory, and (i can't remember who's theory it was) but it does also fit in with the whole "oceanic are in on it".

Either Kelvin purposefully led Des away so that by the time he got back the hatch would be going bezzurk (bearing in mind the timer couldve been wound down remotely)..and so he would eventually come to think that he caused the plane to crash when in actual fact the plane was always due to crash..so it was just coincidence that he happened to be late with the button that day (or more likely perhaps) it was fate/designed so that that the chain of events would take that course. You could, i suppose take Kelvin out of the equation (since he appears not to be affiliated with the Others or their superiors) and see it as someone remotely putting the timer down to zero (when in actual fact Des had only been gone for 80 minutes or something) so that when the plane crashed he would think it was him.. So i guess, it could be viewed as coincidence that Des left the hach on that day..but fate/design in the fact that someone made the timer go down quicker than it should and thus making him think that he'd messed up. Bearing in mind theres cameras in the hatch, someone couldve known that Des had gone walkies.. Argh, i think i confused myself there, lol

Nope, sorry but i reckon it was no one's intention for the plane to crash, the others seemed supried to see it and certainly seemed to think our losties would be more dead than the tailies, but maybe that part explains why the tailies were taken and not the people from the fuselage. Hmmmm
I think it was an accident on Des' part but maybe the island (yes i still believe) wanted them there so Des noticed it at that time. ooooooo it's all so complex. |
