Default Kelvin Inman speaks Iraqi

I watched "One of us" the other night on E4, and in the scene when Kelvin sets Sayid free, he says a few words in Iraqi.

I had forgotten about that by the season finale. Age, you know.

But, that sort of makes sense, doesn't it, because when you look at the name "Inman" it surely looks like an arab name to me.

I'm beginning to wonder what the significance of this man really is. If you think about it, only Jack's dad and him have played an important role in more than one characters flashback.

Before anyone points it out, I'm not counting Malkin, because in Ekos flashback there is only a single scene with him.

I noticed this also. And why did they have to use Sayid as a translator, when one of them could already speak Iraqui? And do you think Inman is in th Dharma initiative at this point?

Well, on the first question if I remember correctly he only arrived later, the other soldiers had started to use Sayid earlier.

On the second question this depends if you believe he told the truth to Desmond when he said he was dismissed from the army because people had followed his orders, and that he joined Dharma after that. Personally I do.

Im tempted to believe him aswell but then i remember in his very next sentence he 'ordered' Desmond not to go outside..which makes me think that perhaps he didnt join the D.I under pure intentions and that perhaps he wasnt tired of men following his orders..

Personally i reckon that Kelvin was pulling Sayids strings way back when they met during the Gulf war. Sayid was pre-selected back then methinks.

Oh and ive just had a crazy thought..well not so much a thought but more of an observation.. Remember when Kelvin gave Sayid a bunch of US Dollars back in the 'One of Them' flashback..i always thought that odd. So is it a coincidence, i wonder, that Sayid came across a bunch of dollar bills in the real Henry Gales pocket..upon which was written his letter.. Perhaps Kelvin killed him? Is this why the creators showed Kelvin giving Sayid dollar bills in that flashback..to help us make the later connection....

All this just makes me even more suspicious of Kelvins hatch-tales..

I not too sure about that, i think its just coincidence, that would have ment he was selected about 15/16 years before the crash, seems a bit too long to me but you never know

Yeah, i think it does actually go back that far.. I dont like the idea of coincidence..okay, perhaps on some levels, but when you have so many apparant 'coincidences', i think fate of design has played a part somewhere along the line.

DOnt get me wrong, you could very well be right. It's just that i feel that most, if not all of the losties were ear-marked many many years ago. Perhaps some of the people who were earmarked didnt make it to the island due to the desicions and choices they made in life? Perhaps Dharma (or whoever) didnt feel they were suitable to come to the island? Perhaps our losties were part of 2 or 3 hundred original 'targets'..and they were the ones 'chosen'...
