Since the season 2 finale all we have had is a bit of "SEEING INTO THE FUTURE" from Desmond brirfing seen in the first episode. SInce then hes been redundant. No point him bing in the last few episodes. In fact since he became a regular hes done naff all.

I mean Desmond is surrounded in mystery yet its all been ignored. In fact I've started to find him boring. I'm hoping the next eoisodes after the break focus more on his strengths.

Naa i think he was great in further instuctions... it was only 3 eps ago lol.... do you not think that Desmond was supposed to have Sayids line?? i was like WTF??

When sayid and locke were walking to get ekos jesus stick, Sayid says ' so what was that thing' and locke replies ' the people at the beach call it the monster' ..... Shouldnt Sayid no this!!! was he not there in S1 with all the trees flapping etc..

It would have fitted better if desmond said that line after-all he'd been cooked up in the hatch so hes probably had no encounter with the BS

I agree..theyve wasted Desmonds potential thus far this season. We have had brief glimpses and though theyve been awesome (imo) theyve been far and few between. We needed more Desmond..not more Kawyer breeding process.

I hope they bring Des back to the forefront come the 2nd part of the season but man have they missed a trick so far!

Again it seems a rushed decision. Make Desmond a regualr and bring in two new characters knowing they will get no screen time.

Eko could have been around for a while longer at the very least but after Shannon last year they must of wanted a shock death for the fall finale. Problem is they did it last year so its not a shock and Eko is not really what I call a main character (not like Jack/Sawyer/Locke/Kate etc)

I think there has been little planning this year. Maybe the 6/17 episode structure has upended plans the prodiucers had but it all seems rushed.

I don't think that Desmond has been unused entirely so far. Out of the four episodes he's been included in he has used his powers in two of them and was semi-active in TCOL but it would be nice to explore some more of his mystery.

And I want to see exactly why he was put into military prison - surely that would have been more entertaining than the latest Kate endevor?

I say give it time... i think they are trying to build the mystery first before they reveal some stuff about des. if you think about the whole speech and the lightning storm hitting the rod, they are trying to make us think something... if in the next two episodes desmond doesnt do anything i will eat my left shoe.

I noticed that too, ILWL. I thought oh no, they've swapped the actors but forgotten to update the script! What is Lost coming to these days that they would let something so stupid slip in?

I'm okay with Des, actually, I'm prepared to give his mystery a bit of time to unravel. I wish they'd get a move on with Paulo and Nicky, though. Either make them proper main characters, or dump them! At the mo, they might as well be extras rather than "new regulars".

I totally agree. I thought this line was very odd.

Yes, but it was Locke's reply that made it clear he was addressing someone new to the island/beach and monster. If they're setting us up for some huge twist, great - but it looks like just plain shoddy writing to me.

Thats all well and good..but the tepidness (if thats a phrase) of his performace, or rather script, since 3x03 is a bit of a worry really. Im all for slow burners, but you've still got to keep the momentum going..i mean what the point in having Desmond in the last 2 eppys if his contribution is going to be so poor? The dialogue and interaction between Team Locke is all messed up, imo
