Thats all well and good..but the tepidness (if thats a phrase) of his performace, or rather script, since 3x03 is a bit of a worry really. Im all for slow burners, but you've still got to keep the momentum going..i mean what the point in having Desmond in the last 2 eppys if his contribution is going to be so poor? The dialogue and interaction between Team Locke is all messed up, imo
I don't think the last few episodes are as weak as you KoR, however I do agree with dialogue and interactions (your last point) - I think they've tried to do too much. For the most, there have been 4 groups with about 15-20 main cast members

4 groups being
Sawyer and Kate
Locke and Co.
Jack and the others
and the beach camp

I think it got too stretched, but I understand their situation. For me, if they'd just focused on Jack et al it would have been better - but then, 6 episodes of not seeing the outcome of Locke etc would have been a bit risky - so I think this is why it seemed so unsynchronized (apparently, it's a word)

Yes thats the point I was tying to make. I know Lost is a slow burner but I'd rather Charlie had Desmonds lines because Desmond never helped in the Pearl did he. He just watched. And at least Charlie would have been shocked at Ekos death. Paulo said himself in eppy 5 "Whats the matter with Eko anyway?" to which Nikki replied "His brother died in the plane".

At first I thought these lines was to tell the audience whats happened previously but we had 2 minutes of past footage anyway!!

Also no Jin/Sun. I mean okay they maybe at the beach but no mention whatsoever.

The only thing that made sense was Sayid fixing the monitor as hes the fixer but otherwise they must have had musical chairs with all the lines for a laugh.

Dont get me wrong - im not saying the last 2 'episodes' were weak..episode 5 was fantastic whilst 3x06 was dire, imo.. but in this instance im specifically saying that i think Desmonds role (and the role of some other characters) have been poor in the last two episodes. Sorry, just had to make that distinction, because i adore 3x05 and i was adoring Desmond until his recent scripting debacle.

The thing is, im not sure how much sympathy we can extend to the creators because they chose to do it this way..suyrely they had a better vision that what theyve achieved? ..also, i felt the to and throw of the 2 camps in 3x05 was brilliantly handled..so why couldnt they achieve those heights with this latest episode? I think it just comes down to inconsitency..

Yeah that's fair. It seems the writers miscalculated at some point, or perhaps we're just being too cynical.

Yeah, i feel that they have miscalculated the progression (or consistency) somewhat ..it's not a crime, but i guess us Lost fans spot the slightest inconsistency because were so observant :P

Yes indeed!

I'd love to see the "writers time spent on the show":"fans time spend analyzing the show" ratio!

I bet we win!

I think that this can be put down the the fact that in TCOL big things were happening on both sides but in ID they wanted to spend as much time exploring Sawyer, Kate and Jack's mental stances so that people would panic throughout the break and didn't have the time, patience or the inclanation to deal with Locke's camp.

I really think Abbott has it in for me

If its not Charlie its Desmond getting a slagging..... this is what happens when I cant get on for a bit!

Its physically impossible for the writers to be able to include every character in every episode! Me personally, Im looking forward to more nude scenes lol
