Sorry just thought Id get that one in there quickly.

I thought this was a brilliant episode and Dave almost fooled me as well! We know hatch person is an 'Other' (cant call him Henry anymore can me).

Libby was crazy as well that was an expected still slightly shocked whe i saw her the irony of Hurley destroyingthe food the the drop being found AND the button wasnt pushed so what are the consequences?

Still a filler episode but is was brilliantely excecuted.

I didn't think that anything could have topped 'Lockdown' so quickly, but that episode blew me away!

I thought that the writers did an excellent job of putting acoss the possibility that everything could have just been inside Hurley's mind, and the revelation with Libby at the end just poses more questions...what if she's still ill and everything is in her mind?!

And one continuity goof I noticed was when Hurley was walking back to the caves and his backpack spilt open at the bottom - the first thing to fall out and smash the ground was his tub of peanut butter, but that was the last thing he put in when he was packing at the beach, so the tub would have been at the top :P

I have to disagree Jord, I dont think this was in anyway a filler episode. For me it absolutely rocked my socks!

I dont really know where to begin with this because ive still got so much to say about Lockdown, so this may be sparradic [lol]..but here goes:

Okay.."Dave"...i actually did guess that he was all in Hurleys head [honest]..it was when the doctor was taking the picture..i cant put my finger on what alerted me to the suspicion that 'Dave' was imaginaery but it was just something about the way that scene was done.. anyway, I thought that this episode was perhaps the most clever Lost episode of all time. Not necessarily for the 'Dave isnt real' aspect [though that was awesome!] but because it brought forward one of the most talked about concepts of Lost..that being the 'subconcious'. This episode made this concept so vividly tangible because many of us often remark on the subconcious elements of Lost and how the characters visions etc are things derived from their pasts or memories etc..and by making Hurley have an imaginary friend in the 'real world' it really brought the issue of the' inner battle/test that rages within all of the Losties', home. It was so clever in the way in which they portrayed that Hurley had conditioned himself into a life of self punishment and torture because he felt responsible for the deaths of those people..it really helps me to further understand why he is the way he is on the island and why he is somewhat of a loner...it's not JUST because of the 'numbers' and his belief in the curse..its also because he genuinly feels guilty for what has happened in his past [Kate, take note.. ].

Also by depicting the 'murkier' side of Hurleys subconcious in the form of "Dave" we can further see the '2 sides' aspect of the show..the side where Hurley wanted to stop his pain and kill himself and the side which knew deep down that not all was what it seemed and wanted to live. We also see Hurley make a 'choice' to stand up to "Dave" and refuse his own internal will to harm himself. This tells me that somewhere inside himself Hurley did/does want to die..he is suicidal [much like Sawyer..something they share then..] but ultimately he does want to change. Thats a major element of this episode i think because EHH was all about him fearing and resisting change..and worrying that if he was responsible for the food then people would soon end up hating him for the choice he made....then he had a [long] period of regression, whereby we see him hoarding food for himself, thus showing that despite seeming to change at the end of EHH he hadnt really..he hadnt fully 'let go'. ..However now the island seems to have brought everything to the fore and made him finally face up to his demons once and for all...and ultimately with the help of Libby [therin lies its own tale..] I think he has past his test!

I think that this episode really illustrated that the island is testing each and everyone of them..thats not to say its all a big test because i dont for one second believe that...there definetely more going on..more than just experiemnts and tests. Though i think its pretty clear that Dharma's advanced pyschological testing is still in operation..is this because Hanso foundation took over the reigns or because the island now has a life of its own?

Anyhoo, a legendary episode that totally makes up for Hurleys recent character decline..in fact this episode explains it all..just like Ana Lucia's episode explained it all [imo]..it's amazing how just when you think they are losing the integrity in a character they go and give us an episode like "Dave", to prove that they do know what theyre doing and character declines are very much intentional *theres hope for Locke yet then!! Hurrah!*

A few things as well did you see the picture of an island in Hurleys docs office?

All this magnetism stuff is leading me the think that the island must have something to do with the Bermuda triangle, this would make sense as the Bermuda triangle is famous for strong magnetic fields plus plans & boats dissapering throughout history.

It was probably the best episode so far definately the cleverist, I only say it was a filler in the genral scheme of things as nothing major was answered except how Hurley got in the sectioned.

Sets the series up brilliantely for the finale which if like season one should get in motion within the next two or three episodes, looking forward to next week hopefully we will get to know more about the prisoner maybe find out his name?

Lost is definately back on form I just hope every season wont be boring until we get to this point!

I wouldn't say it was the best episode yet, it was definetly one of the most interesting.

Dave was brilliant, very convincing and very funny.

It can't be in the Bermuda Triangle, wrong ocean! :P

I loved this episode and a couple of questions it got me asking:

1. Did Hurley really win the lottery? Could he have made that up in his own mind just to make his life appear better?

2. If Libby is in the hospital, did anyone else spend any time there too? I have have this dreadful fear that we will later see Jack drooling into into his milkshake as he stares across the room at Hurley.

I do think that Hurley won the lottery becasue he wouldn't of made it up to make his life better because of all the bad luck he had! I'm not suprised he's going a bit crazy on the island I bet he still feels like he killed them to people and he feels like he killed his grandpa. I've got a feeling that everyone on the island is linked in someway to someone dieing. Theres:
Sawyer
Kate
Jack
Hurley
Sayid [maybe]
Shannon [her dad died][shes dead]
Boone [hes dead]

I can't think of any more atm can anyone else help?

What did Henry mean when he said 'even god can't see this island' or something along those lines? Maybe there all in Hell?

Yeah I've been wondering what he meant by that as well!

I got the impression that Henry seemed pretty down and depressed by whatever it was he was involved in, or what he had seen happen, and that he feels alone...perhaps implying that if God could see whats been happening on the island then surely He would have stopped it because it's that bad. It's as if God has turned His back on everyone on the island, and left them all to their suffering.
