Okay - heres my thinking.

Danielle and "Alix" were kidnapped by the others along with Robert and co when they arrived. They were all brain washed by the others. Danielle escaped half way through and saw that Robert and co were already happy smily people so she shot them all dead because they had the "sickness". This may explain why Danielle always seems so confused and dazed and in a world of her own with a memory of Alix and whispers.

OOoooh interesting. I kinda actually like that

And it kind of fits in with her 'riddle-like' explanations of things -

Dani: "The others (refering to either her team or the 'others') were the carriers"

Hasn't she been inconsistant with her teams fate too? I'm sure she said something like IT killed them (brainwashing?) and then another time, that she 'killed' them. This theory could mean she's right both ways. The others removed their individuality (killing them, mentally) and she killed what was left of them (physically)

Interesting.
