Rousseau: The MOLE!?

These writers could be super clever..or perhaps theyre geniuses..because somehow they have managed to divert most people's attention away from Rousseau being a mole or an 'Others' affiliate of somekind.

I mean, lets look at this for a Dani-picking minute:

Rousseau claims that she hadnt seen the anyone else on the island/the others..and only heard the whispers. Erm, hasnt she been there for like 16 years!? I know this has been raised time and time again..but this fact has to be reinforced surely!

Rousseau steals baby Aaron and attempts to deliver him to the others..in exchange for Alex, who she 'claims' they stole from her. Now however heartbreaking her 'story' ..you just cant go around baby snatching!

Now all of this coupled with other dubious Rousseau claims, doesnt exactly build up a picture of a trustworthy and honourable person. Sure we all love her quirkyness, but maybe we shouldnt be fooled!

..So, afterall of that and trying to appease the others with the gift of Aaron, she then decided to risk ever getting Alex back again by delivering Fenry to Sayid and the losties!?? Somethings not right there, dudes. Why would she suddenly risk getting Alex back? What was she hoping the losties would achieve with Fenry?

It's all too dubious imo. The only way that i can think of Rousseau gaining from this situation is if she was in on the set-up with Fenry. He must have approached her and offered to return Alex to her if she helped get him into the hatch etc. Or perhaps she is closer affiliated with the others than we have been led to believe?

Any thoughts? Is Rousseua 'sound' or is she more deceitful than weve been led to believe?

oh shes deceitful I'm sure. No way has she been on the island for 16 years and only heard whispers. Thats like living in an estate for 16 years and not seeing any neighbours.

I reckon they told Danielle to steal the boy in return for Alex but being a bit dim, she stole Aaron then lit the barrel to direct the boat to where she was on the island.

Luckily Mr friendly knew what he was after (Walt) and followed the raft.

Also Danielle has unlimited supply of bullets after 16 years. I suspect the others gave them to her. I still think she was in with Henry to get caught but I'm not sure why.

WIll we ever get a Danielle flashback I wonder.

Yeah, that would seem plausible - that they told her to steal Walt but she took Aaron instead..

That also strikes in stark comparison with her protecting and helping Claire Claire escape from Ethan and then a few days later undoing the good work that she had done by attempting to give Aaron to them. It does seem as though she had been 'got' to in between the time she rescued Claire and Exodus.

Or she may have been with them all along!? I do hope that we'll get a Rousseau flashback..i wouldve expected it ahead of a Rernard and Desmond Flashie..but perhaps S3 is the time to reveal her story

I suppose it depends on the availability of Mira Fulan in real life as shes not a regular so needs to be booked. I idon't think shes doing anyother shows but I did hear a rumour of a new bablyon 5 coming soon so she may end up doing that.

Hmm you could well have a point here Roco. Never thought of it like that. Look how dirty and part of the environment she appears to be. Very much like our first impressions of the others.

What if she was working with them, Alex could still be her daughter and there has been no kidnapp or seperation. Her lies would tie in with all the other lies The Others have fed us.

So if she is the last of the others then who are these other others???

and what is the IT she refers to? the Monster?

I'm not sure about that one Abbs. I'm tending to think that the whole transmission could have been a hoax too. Damn it I'm all confused again.

I agree that Danielle is not what she makes herself out to be. She would have definately encountered the Others at least once in the 16 years she has been there, however I'm not so sure that she is working with them. The main reason being that when she caught Henry and showed him to Sayid, Henry tried to escape and Danielle shot him with an arrow. Even if they were in fact working together, I dont think Danielle wouldve gone to such lengths to make the situation seem real, however im not going to rule it out, as we've seen how far these Others will go to successfully infiltrate the survivors' camp.

I also questionned the lengths that Rousseau (and Fenry) would go to in order to make the whole capture seem genuine..and after some thought ive come to the conclusion that they probably would go to such great lengths (eg, getting shot in the shoulder with an arrow) to make his 'capture' seem real. Thats not to say that Rousseau is definetely in cahoots with Fenry or that the capture was definetely staged..but i certainly wouldnt rule it our either ..and if anything i suppose it makes more sense (at this stage) if Fenry and Rousseau did plan it, because otherwise how did Fenry know that Rousseau would take him to the losties etc etc?

It would be seriously risky though wouldn't it, handing over the others leading man to the enemy. "Henry" could have quite easily been killed by Sayid or Ana and i don't think they would have taken that risk.

After all michael shot himself, the others can be very persuasive, but i think danielle is genuine.

No doubt it's risky..but then so is leaving Goodwin (fairly high ranking i imagine) in with the tailies after his job was done..(granted, this was against Fenry's better wishes)

Also, the element of risk is there no matter what because the only(?) other option is that he genuinely got caught. Now it could be argued that being foolish enough to go loitering in the jungle without his people accompanying is just as risky.

You could be right, perhaps he did just get caught..but i think it's also logical to assume that he set the whole thing up (possibly with the knowledge of Rousseau). It's just that he perhaps didnt expect Sayid to try to take things that far. Afterall, it seems that his targets were Jack and Locke..he perhaps didnt expect to be spending so much time with Mr Regression

I don't think Rousseau is a mole but she is suspicious, after catching Henry for Sayid she never once came to check up on him to find out anything, also Henry's done pretty well out of being caught, he's now got 3 people kept in his power and what has Sayid got out of it? A pain in the a$$ really.

Yeah and he's lost his soul, imo.

I just wonder who he wouldve taken his anger out on had Fenry not come along..not many human punchbags on the island (resists from making cheap Jack joke)
