Rousseau? Yeah..i wouldnt rule out the possibility that she was either a member of 'original Dharma' (assuming that they have since fragmented, which is pure theory) or New Dharma/Others or Hanso. Basically i think it possible that she is lying about her story and/or not telling the WHOLE truth.

The whole happening to catch Fenry thing just sticks out like a sore thumb to me. I mean, what are the chances of her delivering him to The Losties (as he surely wanted) and not just chaining him to her torture chamber like she did with Sayid.

Im also dubious about the whole Montange losing his arm thing..i mean maybe he did..but how..how dammit!? ..and then there's Robert..and Alex..the whole thing doesnt add up. I also wouldnt be suprised f Zeke was her babies daddy

I agree, something just doesnt add up with her. She is one of fave characters and everytime she appears I'm on the edge of my seat thinking what is she gonna do next.

Again I know it has been mentioned to death but the fact of the matter is you just cant get away from the fact that she says she has never bumped into the others before. I appreciate the fact that there are more of the losties so the chances of them bumping into an other are much higher than just Dani (one person) bumping into them, but 16 years on an island and not one sighting? Strange.

The counter argument to this could be that the others are just that good at staying hidden. I mean when the losties have come into contact with them isnt that because the others have been following them rather than the other way around? Take Goodwin, Ethan, Boat people, hunting party etc. When have the losties ever just stumbled across them?

Another point that interested me was the trap Dani left which Jack and Kate fell in. If she was part of the others why would she need to leave traps everywhere? She's friends with the losties and she's in cahoots with the others. Whose she leaving a trap for?

Also why help Claire in ML escape? I suppose if she was part of the others then there is a chance that she wont agree with everything they do and she and alex genuinly didnt want Claire to die so helped her out.

But the counter to that imo is the emotion on her face when Claire described Alex to her. If Dani was an other and knew alex, why get so emotional when claire talked about her. And that was genuine emotion she displayed. (Brilliantly acted)


I also think that if she was an other, when she took aaron the others would have been waiting for her and taken the baby off her hands, there was no one in sight, they obviously hadnt made a plan with her to exchange the baby for alex as they would have been there waiting. I think that was a spur of the moment thing on dani's part and maybe indicates she's not an other.


Either way though, her story doesnt quite add up does it? Somethings not right there

i like your thought process Roc. I am caught between Dannelle the concerned mother who will go to any lengths to see Alex again, and your spin on Dannelle (i.e the mole). I am hoping Season 3 will give us a few more clues.

D'you know... I really rather hope Rousseau is pretty much what she seems to be. I think she's kind of fun as she is, and we've already had so many disguises blasted apart that I think it'd make a change for Rousseau to simply be a much longer-term crash survivor. Of course there are plenty of gaps in her story thus far, but I don't think there's anything so massively suspicious to suggest that she has to be on the side of the Others: she took Henry to Sayid (or vice versa rather) because she knew Sayid was a trained torturer and a sustained effort on her part had revealed nothing. She's managed to keep out of the hands of the Others because she's alone and capable and has 16 years of experience on her side. Her relationship with Alex appears, at present, to be canonical and unquestioned, and her reaction to the Others (her hatred of Sayid when she first encountered him; her helping Claire to escape) seems genuine.

That said, there certainly is room to speculate that she might, in Henry's case, be trying to fulfill her side of a bargain with the Others in order to get Alex back - she's tried something similar when she stole Aaron. But that's be a bit repetitive now Michael's taken that precise role.

I have never considered her to be a mole. I do like that theory. It makes some sort of sense and ties in neatly with my opinion that a mole does exist in the group. I think i will re watch some key eps (any excuse) and report back further.

Thats my angle. I reckon that she recently bargained with Henry/the Others.. a deal which included delivering him into 'camp Lostie' in return for Alex (or something like that). Though i agree with you that Rousseau is such a fun character and her ambigiouty kinda makes her what she is - Wacky and a joy to watch

Mrs Ferg - I agree, i hope S3 will shed more light on the whole thing!

Kathleen - Yeah, i have a feeling that a mole exists I still think that Libby was affiliated in some way with either Dharma or Hanso Foundation, but Rousseau is also dodgey in my opinion

Perhaps (as you touched upon) that was her motherly side coming out? Though it does make you wonder whether Rousseau was 'got to' after that event, because it would seem that the 'Others' later used her as a tool to divert attention and sneer Walt instead ('Exodus').. of course she may just have misinterpreted the 'whipsers'.

I guess she has been pretty genuine in both seasons. Though I think at some point during her 16 years, there is some history between her and the Others besides Alex getting taken.

I can't wait for some Danny flashbacks

The fact Danielle was non existant in the catch up Lost is not a good sign for at least upcoming season 3 episodes. But with Alex lurking anythings possible.
