Reason For Being On Flight 815: Attempted to save Shannon from what he was led to believe was an abusive relationship. It turned out she was conning him and it was not the first time, Brian took all the money and left Shannon with nothing so she slept with Boone to regain control over him. They were heading back to California on flight 815 following these events using tickets Boone had booked before he found all of this out.
