The Hobbit gets a director!
After what seems like the longest running contract negotiations in the history of contract negotiations, Guillermo Del Toro has put feathery quill to raggedy scripture to sign on to direct The Hobbit and The Hobbit Sequel.
Both films, being shot back-to-back, have seen Del Toro move out to Lord of the Rings country, New Zealand to meet up with Peter Jackson.
Still without a script however, it is believed that the original LOTR team (Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens) alongside Del Toro himself, will rectify that.
With rumours stating that Del Toro has moved out to New Zealand for 4 years, it's possible that the films will be released 2011 and 2012 respectively.
