This one's still a bit tentative, but given the people involved we thought we should warn you - sorry, that should read "inform you". Jackie Chan, talking to
MTV about his latest film
The Forbidden Kingdom, let slip that he and Chris Tucker are planning on working together again, and
not on another
Rush Hour movie.
"We’ve just agreed to do it. It’s like two days ago when Chris Tucker called me,” the martial arts legend said Saturday. “We sat down and decided we want to do another movie. Not a ‘Rush Hour’ — something new. Now we’re looking for the writer.”
So it's all extremely up in the air so far, but Chan's pushing for things to move ahead, admitting in the same interview that he was frustrated with the long gaps between the
Rush Hour films and wants a "middleman" to keep this idea moving forward. Whether that will be
Rush Hour director Brett Ratner (currently busy on his segment of
New York, I Love You) or someone else remains to be seen. In any case, expect more fisticuffs from Chan and girlish shrieking from Tucker in the near future. And in the meantime, keep an eye out for
The Forbidden Kingdom, which contains the much more interesting pairing of Chan and Jet Li, causing chopsocky chaos in an ancient magicaly Chinese kingdom.
