I am seriously still in shock over this!! I don't believe it. That whole scene at the end with Jack and the coffin i thought they weren't going to show who it was, and i literally just kept going "Come on....come on!" hoping and praying they would! And then they did...and my god. I was actually just repeating "Oh my god!" over & over for about 5 minutes. This programme never ceases to amaze me. So many questions!! Who the hell was he....why the alter-ego? How/why did he get off the island? Aaahh!!

You're heartless Murl :P
![]() Really though I'm still in shock, without Locke, Lost loses a lot of its magic for me, he sorta epitomised everything I loved about the show and was without doubt my favourite character out anything, books, films or TV, so yeah, gutted. ![]()

Never thought back in season 1 that I'd be so unmoved by the sight of Locke's dead body - that used to be the one event that I said would make me stop watching Lost. It, er, won't. But I wouldn't fret too much even if I did care - if Ben wants the body carted back to the island (ick), that suggests Locke still has a significant role to play, and we've still got three missing years to uncover.

Did you lot see the other endings that they had prepared if the locke one got out
Sawyer and Desmond were the other two they could have used in the coffin

Yeah I saw them, surely they werent going to use them though? Although it'd be shocking and pretty sad to see Sawyer and Desmond in the coffin, but they just dont measure up to Locke in the grand scheme of things. And by that I mean Locke's importance to the Island.
And lets remember, the last dead body to arrive on the Island is walking around freely.

He's not. I refuse to believe it. I refuse to believe that he has about 3 years of 'yay i'm leader' and then snuffs it. He's got a body double. It's Mikhail in a rubber mask
![]() Oh man... I knew it was him before they looked in the coffin, but I still over gasped. I couldn't breathe. ![]()

I hate the fact that we are probably going to get to a point in Lost with no Locke.

Do people actually think Locke's dead? I seriously doubt that he's gone..
I think the 'Cazimir Effect' (duplicates) could come into play here - considering this was specifically specified in the episode (The Orchid/moving the island)..also Ben suggests that they need to bring his body back to the island..which leads me to be reminded of Christian and his role in the show. Also, the scene with Alpert in 'Cabin Fever' could also come into play.. However I think the cazimir effect could be the most possible direction they'd take - Locke could be two places at once..the duplicated bunny analogy wasn't for show methinks. If I thought he was dead i'd be devasted right now..but I just don't see it..and if anything at least he lives for another 3 years (and will see out season 5..at the very least) On a side-note, it would be interesting (imo), if future Locke has now become a Jacob-type on the island..unable to physically exist properly on the island because his other half is elsewhere. Not in any way canon, just speculating. |

Hmmm. I don't know. I think Locke is dead. Locke laying in that coffin takes place what, some three years after the Oceanic 6 come home right? My theory is that Locke eventually had to move the island himself in order to protect it. By doing this he was no longer able to return to the island and of course when off the island, Locke is once again paralyzed.
This would be quite a hard situation for Locke to deal with. I could see him committing suicide over it.
