I'm sure im not the only one who has issues with the title of this episode - not only is it hella confusing with Something Nice Back Home but it's rather cornball-sounding. I guess they 'really' wanted to include another social/pop culture-reference.
However, looking beyond my obsession with great episode titles, it's actually interesting to consider the line in context - "there's no place like home" - certainly there isn't..especially when home isn't quite what it used to be. The Losties have become so entrenched in island life that 'home' just doesn't appear to be 'home' any more. Wasn't it Jack who said it felt like 100 years since they first crashed? Indeed, it may as well be, infact it might be - given the way time and space is used on the show. With that said, perhaps the title should be broken down to better get the point accross: There's NO (such) PLACE like HOME - that is, home doesn't exist. The Dharmarites couldn't coexist with the "hostiles" on the island...and the Losties (O6) can't seem to coexist with the world they left behind on that fateful day. They say home is where the heart is - i'm wondering, is it also where the conscience is? Gotta go back, Jack.
