Wouldn't they want to know about Aaron if Kate is his "mother"?

Well? I'm sure they would like to find out who the father is, or perhaps check him out and make sure he's okay.
Nobody knew she was "pregnant" before the plane crash and there wouldn't have been any history of scans so what I want to know is, how have they not figured it out yet?

It's a but of a grey area that the producers haven't done well enough to explain imo.

Although I guess the insinuation is that since Kate was on the run immediately before he "arrest", she could legitimately have been pregnant. Only Edward Mars would really be able to verify that..along with the other O6 members (who are all going along with the story) and the CCTV footage (airport) - which, the creators have possibly overlooked. Though perhaps they (the prosecutors) wouldn't go to so much effort to see whether or not CCTV footage showed her as being pregnant at the airport? On the flip side, with such a big case you'd think that the prosecutors would leave nothing down to 'chance', considering how having a baby has given her 'freedom'.

She wouldnt necessarily have to "look" pregnant anyway ..... some people don't show for ages.

She'll probably get caught out if there's a blood transfusion storyline or something.

I thought she was going to stumble when she was asked his age.

Okay, I'm sorry, but I have had two little boys and neither of them were able to sit up in my lap at the age of 5 weeks. People have got to question why that baby looks so old. Also, in the flashforward with Jake and Kate, Aaron literally comes walking out of the bedroom, looking to be around 2 or 3. Are the flashforwards that far in the future. 2 years after they get off of the island. What will happen with all that inbetween time?

I was able to prop myself up on my elbow when I was still in the hospital (ie a week old or something) ... maybe Aaron is just a freak like me

That's true..
Although she is quite slight..but i suppose they'd believe that she was about 6 months pregnant before she boarded the plane (and subsequently spent 3-4 months on the/an island)..so they could get away with the fact that some women don't show at 6 months as you suggest

I think the SNBH Jate flash forward was about 2.5 years in the future, which would make Aaron nearly 3 years old. So I think they just about get away with that one..as it was after the Eggtown FF where Aaron was 2.
