Talking I Know Why Jack doesn't Like Sun

I've always got the feeling that Jack doesn't like Sun..and vice versa..ok, perhaps 'dislike' is a strong word, but there's always been this 'thing' between them.

In this episode I suddenly realised what it is - Sun always offers great advise, but Jack doesn't like it - perhaps he's still got that stone age mentality..?

In this episode Sun reminded Jack: "It's a phone right, why don't we just call them" in reference to the helicopter. This was simple, yet excellent point, especially when you consider that Jack's pea-brain didn't even think of this obvious fact..he was too busy planning a tracking squad to head off into the heart of darkness. Moron.

..and Sun's good suggestions to Jack can be traced back right through he history of the show - in season 1 alone she made several great suggestions to Jack. Among them were:

Boones leg - Jack was unable to think of a way to give Boone a blood transfusion, when Sun came up with the 'sea urchin needle' idea. Why didn't the doctor think of that?

Shannon's Asthma - Jack was too busy torturing the life of our Sawyer because he thought he had stolen Shannon's inhalers, when Sun came up with the insightful 'eucalyptus' idea - which practically saved Shannon's life at the time. Why Hugo praised Jack with the "Whoa..jedi moment" malarky I will never know.

..And these are only two examples..there's several more occasions when Sun has usurped Jack in the brains department, and I don't think he likes it - likewise, Sun clearly has an issue with him because he is so controlling - perhaps reminding her of her father..

Just thought this was interesting character analysis which came to me whilst watching this episode.
