Well, we haven't seen Jack's mom since Season 1 and "White Rabbit"..many were beginning to think that she was a figment of his imagination (wouldn't be the first time, huh)..

But amazingly she appeared in this episode..and not looking too bad for a woman of her age

. Not only that but we also saw Sun's mum..for the first time I believe..

It really goes to show that this is a show about "Daddy Issues" far more than it is about "mommy issues" (although in Kate's case it's probably both!).

Anyway, it was nice to see Jack and Sun getting a big hug from their respective moms..oh, and I love the way Sun totally blanked father Paik!

I noticed this also. Sun did not once look at her father or even acknowledge the fact that he was there. He just stood there and looked at her as if in shock that she could possibly be alive. He deserved to be ignored.

I agree..he deserved to be blanked by her. It was good because it set-up what was to come later, with her becoming the major stake-holder in his business.

It would be something if Mr. Paik 'knew' where his daughter was all that time..considering Paik Industries has connections with Widmore and Dharma (i think)..

Something tells me that Paik did know she was on the island. Just the way he looked at her as if he couldn't believe she even made it off of the island to begin with.

Jack's ma looked VERY young lol I thought he had another long lost sister when I saw her lol

I ve gotta say though .... one thing which really bugged me about this scene (but also made me pmsl

) ..... They clearly wanted to give the impression that Kate was the only one who stepped off the plane and didn't have anybody she knew there to welcome her home. BUUUUUUUUUUUT did anybody notice that Hurley pawned Sayid off to his mum so that he could have a Welcome Home Hug as well. I mean, clearly Sayid didn't have anyone there either to greet him but just cause Hurley's mum gave him a hug, it looked like he did. Hurley's dad could have equally given Kate a hug

Hurley's mum's the coolest.

Athough I felt for Kate, I must say I felt for Sayid more, so I'm glad Hurley introduced him to his family so he wasn't left out.

Jack can take care of Kate.

There should have been more than enough Hurley's Mum Love to go around.

And anyway ... Jack can hardly take care of it. I mean, that would be a pretty crap welcome. Welcome Home!!!!!!! ..... from the guy you've just spent several months with on a deserted island. Haven't seen enough of him!

If Jack truly loved or cared about Kate, he would have walked off of that plane with her and introduced her to his mother like he should have. Jerk. LOL

that's not true. Jack's father is dead, his mother thought he was dead too. I think the first thing any man would do is greet his mum in the way he should.
And I really felt for Sayid too.. he looked so lost.
Hurley's mum is absolutely amazing

especially with that whole tropical island themed party LOL

Yeah, they blantently wanted to highlight the 'isolated Kate' angle by having Sayid dragged off to be introduced to Hurley's family. Sayid and Hugo aren't that close!

To counter this, they could have just made Nadia greet Sayid on the tarmac instead of outside the facility/airport, but i guess because it was family members only etc. Still, it would have been less glaring than what they did in relation to Kate having no-one.

Hugo's mom rocks - she should be given her own daily show.

Incidentally, it's good to see that Hugo's parents are still together. In a way he was responsible for that - what with his money and all. I guess some good did come out of winning the lotto. I wonder if he's thought of it in that way?

Also, why wasn't Sam Austin at the airport? Has he truely disowned Kate now?
