If Keamy dies, I think the freighter will go boom

The thing strapped to his arm is a detonator, perhaps if Keamy's pulse stops then that triggers it?

I am pretty sure you are right about that DS. Keamy cannot die until everyone is off that boat. However, even if the boat explodes, we know Michael is not gonna die. However, Jin, Sun, Aaron and Des would. Except we know Aaron and Sun don't die, so maybe the chopper gets them off of the freighter before it goes kaboom.

This is a man who REALLY follows orders isn't it

I mean I can just about understand Widmore not wanting anyone to have the islanid if he can't (although it still begs the question why he doesn't just take it if Ben is 'captured'..torching it regardless seems to be his objective), but why would Keamy - a mercenary - risk blowing up his ride home? He wont get the money in hell..

Unless, as you say TDS, the chopper is the way home, and Keamy believes that's how he and his men are going to get back.. but wont they need to get petrol?..and how does he think that chopper will make it to a neighbouring island when they don't even know where they are (well Omar said they do, but do they really)? it just seems like Mr Keamy hasn't fully thought this through

As for Jin, Des and Mike dying - good thinking, but i'm not sure all 3 of them will be taken out. As KF said, Mike still has 'work' to do, unless he completes that work within the next 2 episodes..and Des..well i think Des still has another season left in him. But then I did think the same about Eko

Also..slightly o/t, but this has been bugging me - Frank told Sayid that the chopper can hold 6 people max inluding himself - why then has it been able to hold 6 of Keamy's men and Frank..

Forget the chopper thing - just remembered that was a 'fuel' issue - he burnt too much coming in to the island.

As for Keamy's device..wonder if Locke cold have just put it on his arm instead (in the finale)?

I was thinking that too, but it seemed rather sensitive as it responded as soon as Keamy's heart rate slowed down. Who knows what would have happened if Locke had taken it off his arm?

It's also possible that there were sensors in the bands attaching the device to Keamy's chest.

He might've been able to keep it going via chest compressions, I suppose - would that produce a weak artificial pulse? But he couldn't have done it indefinitely.

True, I guess Locke couldn't chance removing it from Keamy's arm - although I suppose it would have been worth a bash once he had died?

I'm surprised Alpert didn't check his pulse after he shot him - him of all people should know the power for the island for things like that, let alone body armour.
