WTF?
She looks uber-ly calm sitting in that shanty hut with her dead dad. What has he told her to make her leave Aaron behind? Because Claire doesn't strike me as the kind of person who would 'embrace' the island's crazyness like Locke or Ben would. Perhaps she's just decided that shes cracked up and it just going along with it now Or maybe she's been brainwashed Or, shock-horror, she's dead.
Although I doubt she's dead.

There's definately something crazy going on though. I mean, especially after the whole 'Raised by Another' carry on about Aaron, why would she just leave him like that? And more importantly, why would the island want her to leave Aaron for someone else to look after? Could this be a brief suggestion that the 'Island's' or Jacob's intentions aren't really all as good as some of us believe? Personally I think Aaron plays a big role in the future of the island, perhaps having a hand in destroying it or something, which is why it wants Claire to leave him behind, as if he is not in her care, he won't grow up to be that way. Or something The thought is still kind of half-baked in my mind

Still though, I think it looks like Claire is finally getting interesting See? I told you to be patient Roco

This was definetaly a curve-ball I wasn't ready for - I wasn't suprised to see her with Christian per se..but her relaxed attitude is just really really weird.

Yeah, it's looking more likely that she is dead..but just didn't know it until she hooked up with her dead daddy. But even so, why is she so calm? Has she been sipping that Mittelos OJ or something?

What I also found interesting was Christian's declaration that "The baby's where he's supposed to be, and that's not here". Does he mean not here as in 'the island' (considering he leaves as one of the Oceanic 6)..or not here as in the cabin?..or perhaps he means that Claire shouldn't be the one to raise him?

I think Claire may have been enlightened about several things. Maybe Christian or Jacob filled her in on something, and she knows everything will work out ok.

I don't think she's dead. Otherwise, why would Christian tell Locke not to mention her. If she was dead, who cares where she is?.. it wouldn't be like they could come kidnap her.

She did appear strangely peaceful and at ease. Almost as if it weren't really Claire. I have to agree though. Unfortunatly, I too think Claire is dead. That may have been why Miles kept watching her the way he was. He already knew this.

She just seemed a little too chilled out though. I know they (Ben/Locke/Hugo) were walking for several hours..but could Christian hav filled her in on that much in such a short space of time? Although I guess I would still expect her to be a bit less relaxed if she was dead too..so i guess it could work either way

Doesn anyone thik that Christian also appears a little too relaxed? He seems almost sinister - and I include the final Mobisode episode in that..

I don't know..i mean I can't forget the "two sides" thing, so i'm wondering whether Christian and Jacob are truely in cahoots? Where on earth was Jacob?

Very good point. It didn't even occur to me she was dead until I read this thread, and it makes a lot of sense. It could explain,

1. How Claire 'miraculously' survived the blast at the barracks - whereas infact it could have been the point of her death, which would explain...

2. Why Miles was so edgey around her - he did seem to take a special interest in her at that point which even put Sawyer off.

3. Why she was so relaxed when Locke found her at the hut with Christian - perhaps she was now at peace.

The theory that she's dead makes more sense to me than her going doo-lally, which for Claire is out of character. Having said that, it wouldn't explain why Sawyer et all could see her and how she was able to carry aaron etc. But we do know that the dead, in a somewhat limited way, are somehow able to interact with the living on the island.

There was definately something up with Claire in the cabin. I think she looked like she was drugged or something! I dont know, she just resembled the Season 2(?) drugged Claire in Maternity Leave. Either that or she's dead - that would explain a lot. Miles, for example. Also we know how protective Claire is of Aaron - there's no way that she would leave him if she was in her right mind.
I think when Claire awoke and saw Christian with Aaron in the middle of the night, Christian 'explained' several things to her or whatever and told her that she had to leave Aaron. Whether she was also drugged, i dont know. Also, handy that Christian is her dad, or she probably wouldn't have listened to him

Yeah, that's what initially popped in my mind, but i just got a sneaky feeling that the manifestation of Christian Shepherd isn't on the up and up. I could be wrong, but he seems so sly right now

I'm not buying that Claire would just walk off and talk to Christian. She wanted nothing to do with him when she first met him. So much so that she didnt even want to know his name. Also, remember that she doesnt even know that Christian is dead. This is Claire. The girl who is not afraid to whine and scream, especially for her baby. Why didn't she get scared and wake up Sawyer? This girl is definitly not herself anymore.

That's something i had forgotten - she didn't know that he died..! I wonder how this will tie in with events..

I do think that she's the type to wonder off and leave Aaron - she didn't want him a few weeks ago and tried to suffercate him, and i don't think that she's the best mom in the world, despite having a stab at it.

Although i agree that her leaving Aaron is strange..
