Is Jack Mad? I mean honestly, what was all that 'I want to be awake during the op' about (is that even possible!)? Was it about control, ego, sheer hard-headedness?

And why, exactly, did Kate have to be there..why dammit! Just another excuse to see the triangle in action

Don't get me wrong, the guys heart seems to be in the right place, but he's gotta let go. Take the advise of the doctor (Juliet, ironically) and go to sleep..if lucky, you'll soon awake. I mean seriously, this man is so tightly wound, it's untrue.

I failed to see the jeopardy in this scene..we know he lives, so yeah..see you on the otherside, as Ben would say.

It's all about control for Jack I think, and we're seeing it even more in the past few epsidoes. I think I posted it in the discussion thread, but I think that Jack's need for constant control will be his downfall

I couldn't believe Jack when he demanded to be kep awake during the op: I mean as a Doctor, surely he would see the benefit in being knocked out while it was performed? Just goes to show what a pathetic control freak he is, or how he is so in love with Kate that he needs to know that she'll be there when he's being cut open!

And if I was Juliet I'd be pissed that Jack kissed me not because he wanted to kiss me for being me, but because someone else was playing on his mind...

Well I suppose it is in keeping with Jack's character, yes! And there I was thinking that Jack might actually grow as a character...a pathetic hope I know!

I'd just hate to be Jack, I really would: not being able to trust someone when it comes down to it, and still insisting that I was there to keep an eye on things...if I liked Jack even a tiny bit, I'd almost feel sorry for him still not being able to let go of certain things and just trust that things will work out the way they're meant to...

I agree...i think it was purely to show Jack's need to be in control of everything.
Rather him than me, though!!
