Anyone else find it 'interesting' as to how far Ben travelled just to deliver the message to Widemore?
Not to mention he was willing to slot a complete innocent for it (the porter). Could be refering back to 'the rules'. Also fair to assume Desmond is goona play a massive part in this hunt! |

Ben wanted him to feel the pain he feels, and just killing him wouldn't bring that about.
Ben's "You know I can't do that", when Widmore asked if he was there to kill him, made it sound as if killing each other is against the rules too, but I get the impression that Ben's now only following the rules in this instance because it suits him to do so.

Yeah, I'm thinking it must be the "rules"..of course this didn't stop Widmore from 'changing' them, so perhaps it extends beyond the rules and into 'the island wont let Widmore die' territory?
Who knows, but there's a missing strand somewhere..it's almost as if these rules are 'laws' of the Universe/Island..perhaps dating back to ancient times..or from future times, what with all the time-hopping.
