The Glyphs & Smokey's Attack

I'll add a screencap later, but did anyone else notice the glyphs on the wall leading from Ben's secret room to the tunnel where Smokie seemingy resides?

I think this is quite big as it potentially (and finally) gives us a link between the Swan countdown timer (which flipped glyhps if the timer ever reached zero) and Smokey.

If memory serves the countdown timer's glyphs translated to "Underworld" - Smokey certainly seems to live 'underground' - perhaps getting it's energy from the electromagnetic properties of the island?

This, i assume powers/fules Smokey

Anyway, back to the glyphs - does anyone have any thoughts on them? Did Ben use ancient code or language to activate Smokey? Or was the attack on Keamy's team more a case of letting the dogs out?

Was Smokey's attack co-ordinated via specific instructions from Ben..or did Ben simply release the hounds from hell and expect them to go for anything in the vicinity?

My vote's on the former because they didn't go for anything in the vicinity - they went only for Keamy and his men. Sawyer was in the path of an attack at one point as well, but nothing came of it.

So Othersville was purposefully built on top of ancient ruins/tunnel systems leading to Smokey's lair..?

What I want to know is WHO owned Ben's house before the purge? Was it glasses guy (totally forgot his name right now)..or perhaps Candle or the de Groots?
