The C4; Freighter boat

Does anyone else get the impression the C4 WILL explode and one of the cliffhangers is whether Desmond, Jin and Michael survived?

Unless I have forgotten this, but did we find out WHO planted it there?

Something else that confuses me is why the Freighter has been left unmanned by the "bad guys". Was that not a very bad idea on Keamy's part? The ship's sailor is clearly on Desmond's [and the good guys'] wavelength and currently we have no bad guys on the boat. Where on Earth do they plan to land the helicopter once they return from the Island?

I wonder how the C4 will explode and what the 'last resort' is for whomever put it there.

I think the whole bomb on a boat is a cheap way out. I guess all those saved on the boat (Jin and the three extras) will all blow up and die along with any more extras brought across by Daniel).

Then next series you'll only have the likes of Sawyer and Locke on the island and maybe Jin swimming ashore and maybe Daniel and Charoltte on the Zodiac but have to turn back.

I agree it is somewhat cheap, though it was unexpected all the same. I surely hope none of them die, especially Desmond. But I think we are bound to see some of them die in the blast.

What is the "Zodiac"?

The Zodiac is the thing that Sayid rode back to the beach. Daniel's now using it to transport more people to the boat.
I hope no-one dies too, but it would explain Sun's comment about being in shock in the flashforward and Jin's "death" which she seemed adamant about in the press conference.

I doubt it's going to blow up. I'm sure they'll find away to disable it. But I think it was part of Keamy's plan to blow up the boat that's why he's taken all his Action Men with him.

I can see Jin possibly dying as a result of the explosives, either directly or in a more drawn out way, as well as Des being put in a lot of danger thanks to them. But Des did have a life or death cliffhanger at the end of S2 with the hatch blowing up, so I'm not sure they'd do it again...

And redshirts are always there to blown up or killed in some dramatic way, lol.

Locke will be jealous that there's a load of explosives about to destroy a way to connect the Island to the outside world though...

It does worry me how Jin is supposed to be 'dead' and right now he's in a room full of c4. Desmond better live.
I'm confused though, if that device on Keamy's arm is to set the c4 off how's he going to know when to do it? Unless that's what the signal blocking the depth thingy is and Keamy knows exactly when to do it...

I think the device on Keamy's arm is like a pulse-reader. So when he dies it'll detonate the C4, that way he has his own little revenge at his point of death.
I don't think Desmond will die though, him and Penny seem really involved with the plot, through Ben and Widmore's feud. At least, I hope he doesn't die

Yeah i think keamy does have the 'detonator' thus why he's taken all his mercinaries off the ship and apparently let it slip into the castaways hands.

Lol Locke's eyes would just light up... He'd probably perfect the C4 set up as well and explain, based on his considerable past experience, how to do it properly...

Unless it would be such an obvious way for Jin to die now that he doesn't, and instead dies in a very unexpected way, such as...well I'm not sure at the moment, but in some way we would never have guessed. Maybe he is just about to die as a result of the C4 but escapes at the last minute, and as the audience breathes a sigh of relief - as we begin to wonder if Jin's 'death' in the future is about to be erased - he just...dies...

And I just have the feeling that Keamy would set his arm thing off whenever wherever it's needed, regardless of who it may hurt...
