I dont like the idea of Alpert being the father lol, not only would it be a bit silly, but it'd also make Alpert a bit "dodgy", in that way

Just watched this scene again and when Alpert appears at the window and the nurse asks if that's the father and Emily's mother replys 'I dont know' I'm guessing that she's never met Emily's boyfriend and just knows about him so I dont think Alpert is he father he is just interested in John and keeping an eye on him until he can visit him when he's 5 [flashback].

I don't believe for a moment that Anthony Cooper was 30 years older than John. That would make him about 80 at the time he died, and about 50 when he conned James Ford's parents (when he was 'young', in his own words). I can buy Kevin Tighe being in his late 60s at the time we last saw him, maybe about 70. But I don't think I can't buy him being 80. That's a bit too much of a stretch. I believe Cooper was John's biological father, I see no reason to doubt it, and to have it proven otherwise would ruin the entire Locke/Cooper storyline. I think Cooper was about Emily's age or just a few years older. Say, 18 to 20. I don't think he was the boyfriend momma Locke was refering to. Emily could have conceived a child during a brief fling 6 months earlier, and she might not have had anything to do with him anymore. She could have found another, older boyfriend by the time. There is no evidence that the father of the child and her boyfriend at the time were the same man. Or, momma Locke could have just been REALLY exaggerating when she said 'he's twice your age'. In any case, having Cooper be 15 years older than Emily would be absurd, and having Cooper NOT be Locke's father would ruin John's story. |
