I meant to mention this a while ago, and haven't seen it discussed - did anyone notice Juliet's voice when jack was speaking to Kate? I'm sure they use Juliet's voice instead of Kate's for the scene when she was in the shower

They've done this voice distorting thing before - in the Economist with Ben. Just wondered whether anyone noticed this, and why you think they did it..to fool us no doubt, but wasn't it kinda pointless seeing as it wasn't a cliff-hanger and Kate stepped out of the show like 3 seconds later

Actually yes I thought it was Juliette's voice also so was a little suprised to see Kate. The "razor" comment also led us to believe that it was going to be Juliette. I never knew Lost used this to trick viewers.

Regarding The Economist, I recall the man Sayid was talking to did not sound like Ben, but perhaps Michael Emerson tainted his voice before the 'reveal'.

yeh, i noticed it in both instances, seems to be a rather cheap way of keeping us guessing who it is.

It is rather cheap I would agree. The revelations were also over quickly, so it seems somewhat unnecessary.

Could it maybe have been Jack imagining it was Juliet. I mean perhaps he was daydreaming about getting back to the island and Jules, then Kate standing there brought him to reality??

You mean Jack was hearing Kate's words as though Juliette were saying them? It is possible.

Yeah I thought it was Juliet for a moment......................sorry lost my train of thought with thinking about Kate in the shower

Indeed Kate standing there like that would bring anyone back down to earth with a thud. But yes, it's possible..although they really should have made it more apparent if that was the intention.

I like Lost's subtle hints at what certain characters are thinking, but if this was their intention and Jack was 'dreaming', then we have to be able to distinguish it.

This is why I don't think it was us dipping into Jack's point if view..but the creators just making us expect to see Jules come out of the shower. A pointless suspense-plot if ever there was one.

The Sayid/Ben cliff-hanger was good..the Aaron/Kate reveal even better..but this was just strange. Perhaps the sound department felt left out from that year when the graphics department put the Dharma logo on the shark?
