Sorry, but i.. dont like Jules. She's just cold. I cant like her. She even made me like Kate in this episode.

Anyway, was pretty good, although we didnt learn much new. Hurley and Christian were awesome, and i love the aaron storyline, and the fact that its being given prominence again on the show, it was that and walt which originally got me hooked.

Weirdly i think Claire is going to be ok. Her dying just seems.. too obvious.

Thats exactly my problem with her. I cannot relate to her at all even in the past when we found out about her sister

Back on topic: Yeah, fair enough..i'm not 'certain' that she was being sneaky - it's just that you can never quite tell with that woman..especially when she does that half-smile-half-frown thing.

I'll give her the benefit of the doubt for now.

Oh. This thread seems quiet, lol.

I quite enjoyed this episode but there was just something missing? I don't know exactly, but it didn't feel like the standard of last week's episode.

The flashforwards were ok. Interesting to see Jack and Kate hooking up, and Hurley is getting crazier (or is he?). But it was just a bit bland, but not bad. I still enjoyed it.

The island stuff was better imo. I thought Jules was brilliant in this episode, and I loved Sawyer and Miles. Claire was actually interesting too . However, I think it would have been a hundred times better if we didn't know that Jack got off the island. I mean, it was dramatic and tense but we knew he wasn't going to die. It kinda spoiled the drama of it.

Sawyer/Claire/Miles - I'm liking this trio. The Danielle/Karl bodies was a good reveal, and then the hiding in the bush. I thought it was cute how Miles was trying to shush the baby, lol. At first I wasn't sure where Sawyer's sudden protectiveness of Claire had come from but I think it relates to the situation. She has a baby and is small and looks so sweet, he's taking care of her in a brotherly way as Miles suggested. I also think it could be to do with him wanting Aaron to have a better life than his.

I really don't like the idea of Kate doing things for Sawyer but it's interesting that Jack aid that Sawyer chose to stay behind. At least I think that's what he said? But I don't like the thought of Kate being in touch with Cassidy/Clementine - poor Cass had to suffer through it last time

It was a good episode, but not one of the best. I liked Sawyer being heroic again. Miles too

See I couldn't figure it out either, but then decided that Sawyer must have created a link between Claire and Turnip, with Cassy and Clementine. That's how I see it anyway.

I agree. It has to be something - Cass and Clem, or his own childhood, or maybe his slight friendship with Charlie? I won't stop him, however, because it seems sweet, but it is a bit sudden.

Although thinking about it Claire is the one person he has always been nice to, lol.

I've got to say though, even though it is sweet it just seems a bit, well, wierd. It's even got a tad creepy as, even though he has always been very pleasant towards Claire, it just seems very over-the-top. I don't know if this is bad-writing of Sawer again though, as it just seems so forced. However I shall live in denial and say it's because of Cass and Clem, he's ran from one mother-daughter relationship, he probably just doesn't want to see this one gurgle down the drain too.

But yes I agree, out of all the Losties, or pretty much everyone on the show, Claire has been the one that has always escaped Sawyer's teasing. In fact I can't remember Sawyer being rude to Claire..ever. As I say maybe he just has sympathy for mothers

I know what you mean. It's as if suddenly (and I know for the most part I like it) they're trying to force Sawyer into being the hero. He's got it in him but he's always been very reluctant, but now suddenly, he's very protective. I don't know if creepy is the word I would use, but maybe very possessive? He won't let Miles near Claire. Please don't remind me of Eggtown Sawyer . Lol, yes, lets. Sawyer is using Claire/Aaron as his Cass/Clem - it works for me, lol.

You make a good point - he's been pretty nice to Sun since finding out she was pregnant. So maybe he does have some sort of "thing" for mothers? It's hard to work out Sawyer's character these days coz it seems the writers keep changing him too.

Phew, Jack rant over....anyway. On with the review. I thought it was a good, solid episode. Back to the typical Lost we all (or maybe not?) know and love. I know some people aren't a fan of Jate, but i like it. I am not one of those people who thinks Jack and Kate should be together and stuff, but i like watching the Jate scenes. As a plot device i think it's excellent..brilliant infact. I just think that it lacks a bit of 'execution'. It's one of those things which must have lookd good on paper back in the Season 1 drawing board, but ultimately there's just something not quite 'right' about it...and not in the sense that Jack thinks.

Don't get me wrong, i still like the idea of Kate having Aaron and that whole concept, but give me island mythology, Ben/Locke and Hugo and even Jack poping pills over that anyday.

I don't want to bash Kate in a non Kate specific thread (i'll make that one later..i jest), but perhaps it is partly because i can't stand the girl? I want to feel sympathy for hernd to connect with her but she's too far gone as far as i'm concerned. Funnily enough i feel more warmth and patience for Jack..i don't know why..

Those are just my views, of course.

They may be trying to portray Sawyer as a hero again, but they're using a very strange method. This isn't really being a hero, it's being, as you say, very overly protective in an almost creepy way. It isn't creepy in itself, it's just creepy to what extent he's having a go at Miles. I mean I know Sawyer trusts pretty much nobody, particularly threatening newcomers, but Miles didn't really seem to do much. Possessive, possibly, it just seems very very protective. But yes, if we start going back near Eggtown territory we should form a petition.

He just seems to have an emotional link with them. He never got the chance to have the bond between Cass and Clem, so I think if he ever sees a mother that needs protecting he goes full pelt.
