Great face/off in the internal war in Team Locke. Ben and Locke wanting to go find Jacob..needing Hugo's assitance to do so, and Sawyer suddenly acting all protective wanting to head back to the beach.
Whilst Sawyer was quite endearing at times, I found his protection of Hurley, Turnip and Claire as sickening as Jack's "She's under my protection" (re: Juliet) in seaosn 3. Anyway, I found it encouraging that Hugo was willing to be the diplomat in this situation..he has redeemed himself slightly since his awful massacre of Pryce in 3.23. I sense that a part of Hurley wants to know..wants to understand 'what' he saw in that cabin. Did it (Jacob) choose him, or did has Hugo's minds-eye the ability to move objects without even knowing it. Ben got 'more than he bargained for with Walt'..I wonder what Jacob will make of Hugo..? ![]()

![]() You do have a point about Sawyer acting so sudden, and that he can easily change back to being the selfish, vicous, vengeful Sawyer that we all know. But for that moment, it seemed quite natural and understandable - I doubt I would belive stories about 'Jacob' either, and like Locke at first, he is natrually secptical and just wants to make sure that everyone is safe. Given that (rightly or worngly) he blames Locke and Ben for nearly getting them killed, then wanting to get as far away as possible from those two is also perfectly natural. I assume the 'sickening' part of Sawyers defence was the fact he pulled a gun on Locke. In that case, you have to find Lockes actions equally disgusting because he pulled the gun on Sawyer first .But good old Hurley bringing some sense to the situation. Yes I do belive that you are right, that Hurley, if he is able to move the cabin or not, does want to make some sense of the situation also, hence it was logical to want to go with Ben and Locke. Hurley might yet have a big part to play in this yet... (netural between Ben and Widmore maybe???)Last edited by esn; 05-06-2008 at 05:25 PM. |

I don't think I fully understand this... I mean... Sawyer's relationship with Hurley has been emphasised more and more over season 4, probably just to lead up to that moment. Since Charlie's death and since the episode in season 3 when Hurley made Sawyer 'be nice' he has been... well, kind of a nice guy and he's probably doing it to redeem himself. I don't get it the when Sawyer's a bit of an arse; he's slated and when he's a bit of a hero; he's slated
He's a complicated person with lots of sides and probably doesn't even understand why he does things himself ![]() And lol I bet Hurley is chuffed. He's the new triange chick Kate eat your heart out Jack and Sawyer never pulled their guns on each other entirely for her ![]()

Its not that Sawyers slated for being a hero, its just a case of this one act not righting his worngs (to be fair I think its too late for him to do that regardless) and not wanting fans of his getting too OTT with this 'transformation' as if hes somthing new, when he isn't, not yet anyways. |

Well he's always been running around admist the drama. He's always gone on the treks into the more potentially dangerous situations (The Hunting Party, Live Together Die Alone etc) although that could be argued that he wasn't bothered if he died. I don't think he's trying to right his wrongs at all, he's just doing what he feels right. I think anyone with a sane mind would go and warn the others that people may be coming to kill them, and especially get Claire who is kind of the only relatively innocent person there. And plus there would be Aaron to think of. Personally (and if I wasn't a wimp
) I would have done the same thing ![]()

True, but I just think that the great celebrations of his transformation should be put on hold for a while, at least untill he can maintain it over a couple of episodes, and not sporadically either. |
