Light and dark OR: If Ben is Moriaty...

I think if we eliminate the term 'Neutral' we are better off. Clearly both men in question have done bad things so I think should a 3rd person come into the mix he could also be 'bad' but then again he could be parallel to Ben and Charles - i.e. he could be THE good guy.

Widmore was once a good man before having the Island "stolen" from him, so I think we have evidence of both men being good and bad.

Perhaps 3 is a crowd - will we see a third powerhouse enter the fray?

I don't think there can be netural between them and no room for a 3rd person. It's either Ben's side or Widmore's side.

I agree, I think Lost would enter sitcom territory if a 3rd person entered.

Actually Id rather we left the idea of 'good' and 'bad' alone all together because I dont think its a correct and accurate term for Ben and Widmore and it just confuses things. Maybe light and dark would be better, and the netrual being grey?

And I belive that there has to be a 3rd party out there - the one whos goal it is to bring the light and dark together in union and co-operation

No they wouldnt - they would be bringing the two players together

Ying and yang - in lost terms, they are seperated and unequal. They need to be brought together and made equal again. Thats what the two sides is all about IMO

Interesting idea

but like I say, lost is way beyond any good v evil concept IMO. Just simply two sides that are seperated but need to work togther for harmony, perhaps with a third party bringing them together

Or perhaps they already are and they dont know it? Ben and Widmore balance each other out, and need to obey certain rules to make sure that this is the case? They are working against each other, but also with each other? Hence why Ben cant kill Widmore, and needs to kill Penny to balance things out?

Ok if it was for anything else I'd agree. But this is something you need two sides for and can't have a 3rd person
