Awesome, so you had 7 days of unadulterated Lost! That must have been one heck on an experience watching all of those episodes back to back from the start
![]() Yeah, I my favourite's are Ben and Locke..I agree, Michael Emerson (and Terry O Quinn) are both amazing actors, I couldn't imagine Lost without them. True..although I think more and more people are coming around to the idea that Ben is actually 'the good guy'. Here's hoping! ![]()

I don't think that Walt ever really saw Mike as his Dad though, so he could have used any excuse not to speak to him. I know that Mike came around to the idea of Fatherhood, but I'm not too sure about Walt.
From very early on I've been wary of Walt, his throwing knives and telling Locke not to open the hatch really freaked me out, so I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be very much in contact with the island, even if he doesn't realise it. Maybe the powers that control forced Walt to force Mike, like he made Locke kill Naomi and get Shannon killed. We still haven't found out what happened when Walt was with the others, I think he still has some powers that could cause a lot more damage!! |

Hmm, I take your point, but I do think that Walt and Mike had gotten to the stage where he truely became his 'dad' - the look of joy on the youngsters face as he crawled out from underneath the thing on the boat said it all..he was just so overjoyed to finally be in his dad's arms again.
That said, perhaps their limited relationship allowed any potential rift between them to become more permanent than it would had they spent more years as father and son? Perhaps it sent Walt's opinion of Mike right back to square one (once he told him what he did to get him back), whereas he might have been more forgiving had they known each other for longer. I've always believed Mike to be a good father..let's not forget that he didn't give Walt up..he reluctantly sacrificed his being Walt's father for wha he believed were Walt's best interests. That witch Susan manipulated him into giving Walt up, making him feel inadequate and not good enough to be a good dad. Of course years later Mike was used to the thought of his son being safe in Susan's care..he wasn't ready to become a father after letting go of him previously. I think it's incredibliy hard to let go of the thing you love most in the world and to then have that thing return to you when in your mind you've already moved on, or become used to the idea of not having that thing in your life. That's not to say that Mike didn't initially shirk his responsibilities once Susan died, but it must have been scarey for him to open his heart to another person again. I guess having Walt back in his life made him weak..it meant that he had to care and sometimes that's the hardest thing to do when caring is what makes one most vulnerable. Similar to Locke and his 'faith', i feel![]() Yeah, I think Walt (and special children) have always been important to the island, because their minds are not conditioned like adults - their imaginations are open. For a child 'everything' is possible, and it's that mindset which the island feeds off, imo. Indeed..the idea that the island is remote viewing via Walt (or vice versa) is an interesting one - could the island (or Jacob) have transferred Walt's powers over to itself..or perhaps the island uses Walt's minds-eye as a mirror to reflect all of his abilities onto itself. transference, perhaps? Yeah, I still want to know exactly what Ben meant when he sai they got more than they bargained for th Walt - although the 'Room 23' Mobisode (shown last hiatus) kinda touched on that..
