Yes, that's exactly right - if such an awful thing happened then I wouldn't give a damn about getting shot or not..i'd be distraught..and i certainly wouldn't be thinking about saving my own hide, i'd be off giving Karl and Rousseau CPR or something (well, maybe not Karl ). Announcing my allegience to my father wouldn't be a priority..my priority would be pumping the oxygen back into Karl's lungs - if i were in her situation and if he was my love etc. Yet the moment the guy gets shot she's already thinking about self preservation - and whilst this is understandable, it's also highly questionable, considering the reason why she is so distant from her father was because of the very boy who now lies with a bullet through his lung. Surely she owed it to Karl and their 'love' to stay true to their anti-Ben stance? Yet she caved in after only seconds of Karl biting the bullet - proving that all that angst was for nothing.

But, um, she's 16 I think she's probably more concerned with the 'not dying' part.

I'm not saying that Karl is the complete love of her life, but she's probably just got more sense than to try and revive him. And plus, she probably would have tried if Danielle hadn't dragged her off. And when Danni said 'I love you' it kind of brought Alex to her senses a little.

And I don't think Alex would try and bring Karl back just to spite Ben I really don't understand you sometimes Roco You seem so adamant that everyone loves Ben. I bet if Alex ran up to you and kicked you in the shin and yelled 'I hate Ben' while slapping Ben with a wet fish you'd still say 'But you love him really.'

Well she's 16 and apparently old enough to look after herself, yet the moment things get heavy she's waving her arms aloft and crying for daddy dearest. She can't have it both ways - she apparently loved this boy, yet she's leaving him for dead and doing a "Sawyer" on us.

Yeah, but that's what love is about - you live and die together..not run off and leave him to bleed out. But that's what im trying to suggest - that she obviously 'didn't' love him as much as she thought she did, otherwise she would be pumping on his chest whilst the bullets whistled past her ears. Maybe, as you suggest, Roussy's meddling hands did interfere with her instinct to revive Karl, but what does Roussy know about bullet wounds? If it were me i'd be on top of Karl hammering away trying to revive him - like Jack did with Charlie..now there's a true hero

lol, i'm not saying she would try to revive Karl just to spite Ben..but rather that she probably doesn't love the guy as much as she said she did..which in turn kinda vindicates Ben's opinion of their relationship

Well anger is sometimes evidence of denial. But for real, Alex does love Ben (imo)..look at how she screamed when Sawyer and then Locke almost put a cap through his head..that was the REAL Alex..I don't think 'everyone' loves Ben - quite the opposite..but i stand by my long-held belief that many, if not most, people will come to love Ben..in the end.

Just to say - I cant imagine her standing up and saying that without the intention to betray him - especially knowing that if she doesnt, she gets deaded.

I mean does this seem like a realistic propostion to you:

Alex: Im Bens daughter

Shooty guys: Ok, tell us where he is then

I doubt her intention is to betray Ben - she was reacting on instinct, not thinking about getting one over on daddy. She loves her dad, that is clear despite her angst. No doubt she remembered his words and gave herself up because she wanted to live and believed that they wouldn't kill her if she was Ben's daughter. However I believe that she wanted to be near Ben and wants his protection and love right now.

Alot of people believe that she hates Ben..I think most teenaged girls think that they hate their dads at one point of another..especially when it involved their freedom and boys. Ally is may have been in lust with karlito, but when push comes shove, she loves daddy dearest imho
