The next interesting issue, for me at least, is the difference between the two Libby appearances (i think we've already touched on this slightly), but this is something i'll be looking out for when I go to capture some screens for that.

Some one mentioned this in an earlier post, but it is very interesting that she should be wearing her death-clothes in the 2nd appearance and a nurses shirt in the first. Was the 2nd appearance the island messing with Mike using a recent download of his memory? Or was the 2nd appearance also a dream? But then dreams don't evoke themselves during a waking moment - I think that's a big difference..the first appearance Mike was actually sleeping and then woke up..but in the 2nd appearance, he was awake all the time.

Note to self: "I'm gonna have to watch this again"

Watched the scene where Mike see's 'Libby' for the 2nd time.

Her sighting is preceeded by the same music that was playing as he tried to kill himself in his car ("it's getting better" - Mama Cass).

Personally I find this interesting because it suggests 'memory' involvement, rather than 'manifestation'. There seems to be a subtle distingtion between island manifestation and subconscious memory/retrieval.

Did Michael hear that music because when he tried to kill himself in his car, he nearly opened a portal to the 'otherside' (where the dead reside)? Of course the island didn't let him (die), but can nearly dying affect the subconscious to such an extent that an individual has even less control over it than normal - hence memories playing an independent role in ones 'waking' moments? I'm thinking that the same could also be said of the 815'ers practically being rebirthed, or 'protected' by the island from a certain deathfall from the sky. Perhaps this is why they all experience weird sightings on the island..because they almost died, and almost dying opens a gateway to ones subconscious?

Of course the likes of Ben seeing his dead mom negates this idea slightly..however, it could be argued that Ben 'nearly died' as he was being born.
