Penny

[IM-LOST-WITH-LOST]

This episode has made me so confused about Penny! Sure we have seen her nice sweet side, and i really do love the Character, but does she know more than she's letting on. Perhaps she has joined forces with her father in this war against ben. Or maybe she's siding with him to find Desmond. Let's compare Facts:

• At the end of season 2, she had people looking for the island, suddenly she got a phone call saying that it had been found and ta-da! a month later, her Dad's boat arrives... Pretty suspicous to me
• Last week, she told Desmond that she had been doing research and knew all about the island... Does the Black Rock's journal class as research i wonder?
• Oh, and we can't forget that in the Looking Glass, the computer was connected to hers, this could suggest that Bonnie and the other girl were communicating with her, or in fact, she was trying to communicate with them.
• Penny had the boats number...
• Didn't she mention something about not wanting desmond to get caught up in her fathers business in 'Flashes before your eyes?' Implying that she know's whats going on?
• Plus, we can't forget the fact that it was Charles who sent Desmond to the island. My major concern with this whole thing is, how did penny know that he was on the island, and not simply lost at sea? Perhaps she was involved in the plot? Or maybe her dad told her, but why would he do that if he knew it would make her hate him

But theres also evidence that she isnt involved

• She truly loves desmond, so if the last point above is true, why would she get involved in this plot to send desmond to the island, knowing that she wouldn't see him for 3 years? Also, she told him that she thought he was dead untill her research... this still could have been a lie though.
• In the flashbacks she didn't really seem involved in island stuff like her father was.

Ok there is more for the last part, but im tired and i cant really think right now So what's your opinion on Penny? What are her true motives?

I find it bit of a schoolboy error from Ben truth be told. Did he not know that Desmond was in the swan all these years and he was linked to "Jim" Widmore?

Surely there was info of this in the file? He could of dealt with this alot sooner.

I do think Widmore was perhaps using Penny. She wanted to find the island to find Desmond. I expect daddy used this to pretend to help her find Desmond but was really doing it for himself.

Are we to belive the tape was made after Ben showed Jack the red sox video? Does that mean they can still leave the island? Can Ben timetravel like Desmond and bring objects back???

i'm really confused about the whole thing actually... but i agree with maybe Mr Widmore used Penny to find the island, then kind of dismissed her - which would explain why she was calling the boat and they had orders not to answer.

And thats a point that, abbs. Ben & co have never mentioned Desmond. Did they know he was there? Or do they just not give a monkeys?

I also now think Libby was working for Widmore. She gave the boat to Desmond remember and this just happened to crash on the island. My guess it was planted with an electro magentic device to put it off course and attract it to the island.

That's a bit paranoid... but it's a point that Libby could have been working for Widmore. I wouldn't entirely be surprised if she was. I hope she pops up again

well it really makes no sense that Desmond has been here all this time and they have not bothered with him. Maybe Kelvin never told anybody about Desmond arriving but then the Pearl station had a camera there and Ben and Juliet wer in the pearl (with Paulo in the toliet!)
