Something I find strange in Ben's logic. He has an infatuation with Jules. That's fair enough, there's nothing wrong with that He thinks she is rightfully his. A bit weird but still, for Ben, it's understandable; particularly if he means it as "You should be my girlfriend, not GoodPimps". However if he feels all this for her, then why did he leave her for dead in the Hydra? When Jack turned that wheel like the pillock he is he *seemingly* consigned everyone in that place to a watery grave. Ben, closest to the door, managed to get out quickly and Jules would have made it to safety too. Yet Ben slammed the door on her, consigning her to die with Jack. Is this the action of a man who is infatuated with somebody?

I don't know it just seems a bit strange to me. Then again, most things concerning Ben do Plus I may still be annoyed by this incident...

Jules might have done something between this ep's flashes and that ep that made Ben lock her up. Although, God knows what's going on in his mind.

I think my opinion remains te same on this as it was at the time - Ben and Jules were both aware of the button which released the water, and Ben also knew that they couldn't afford for the electrical equipment in the room to get wet (and destroyed), so he closed the door, with the hope that Jules would be able to get to the switch. It makes sense really - there was a risk involved but Ben and Jules both know that she can look after herself (remember the left hook she ends up giving Jack moments later, for instace).

..and yeah, he was probably a but peeved with her - yet another man who she wanted to get her claws into..someone who would elevate her chances of getting off the island (well, that was/is certainly her *and Kates* opinion).

So I can understand Ben closing the door - he basically knew that she'd be ok - it was risk management, he didn't want the monitors to get wet and I think that was important.

..or what Losty said - perhaps there's yet more webs that we haven't seen Jules weaving..

It's debatable whether a person who isn't Ben wouldn't do the same in that position... but disregarding that, Ben's actions here don't surprise me even with the new information we have on his infatuation with Juliet. Given that all she had to do was press a button to save herself (which she did), there's a good chance that Ben didn't even consider anyone in danger.

Maybe he left her with Jack because he was jealous, he could see some kind of chemistry between them and in a burst of fury he left her maybe?

2 reasons, Either Juliet made it clear to Ben that she was not interested, and he began thinking 'Well if i cant have her, no one can.' But my main theory is that Ben just wanted to save his own ass! It is ben afterall...
