The Other Woman. The episode which had the misfortune to follow the breath-taking "Constant" was always going to be somewhat of a comedown. It's like another show attempting to follow Lost (yes Heroes, I'm talking about you). Still, this was a good episode in it's own right. It brought the leaders back into the fore - Jack, Locke, Ben and Juliet, as well as performing some house-cleaning by revealing that Kate is ok - A collective sigh of relief was breathed across the Internets
![]() I'll admit, this episode is still quite vague in my memory banks - for some reason I cannot remember much of it (perhaps I need a constant?). Anyway, what does stick out in my mind is the possible coming together of two awesome minds - Ben and Locke seem to be working together for once - though you have the love the way Ben ALWAYS has to get the last word in - gently toying with Locke just as he was about the slam the door on another failed breakfast meeting. A few weeks ago I dubbed Ben "2-Steps", because he's always 2 steps ahead - and this week we saw him basically admit it - "I always have a plan". Oh how I laughed. He said it with such 'matter of fact' speaking, that it contrasted with Locke's desperate need for 'instructions'. How the tables have turned - with Jack has his main adversary Locke always stood out as the one with the plans, the one with the foresight and insight. However, Ben is no Jack..as Locke well knows. The Redsox/Widmore reveal was smart - "I taped over the game". Great delivery and I sense Emerson took great pride in that (practising, much?). Metaphorically it contains some value also. So Widmore is finally confirmed as the big bad bad guy in this tangled web - although Charlotte and Faraday seem to think that Ben is the bigger threat. Excuse me, but that's a rather bold assumption is it not Ms. getting more and more attractive by the week? As for you Faraday, you should be ashamed. For one thing, I don't trust them (or rather, their employer) and for another thing, they're surely 'assuming' that is what Ben was going to do - otherwise Ben himself would also die, would he not? And what is with that woman who appeared out of no-where!? I'm certain she was a 'spirit' if you will - proof that Ben is indeed special and that he can communicate with the dead? Or, she was a living being who has an excellent turn of foot. Nah, I'm going for the ghostie angle - perhaps she died at some point, and it would make sense as Ben's scene with Locke seemed to allude to the idea that Ben has 'abilities' (not for the first time this has been apparant, I might add). And then there's the whispers - or in other words, the murmers of the dead - those who reside on the 'other side of the curtain'. I'm wondering whether the dead aren't a fraction ahead in the (living's) perception of time - in other words, we established last week that the consciousness can travel back and forward in time - which leaves me speculating as to whether the consciousness of the dead can. Just speculation. On a side note, I loved Ben's little "Rabbit? I hope it didn't have a number on it". I take it this is a shout out to the Cazimir Effect experiments that Dharma were probably carrying out on the island. An experiment which, incidentally, could also explain how a Polar bear ends up in the dessert..and how a 'near-identical' Oceanic 815 plane wreckage was planted in the Sundra Trench..perhaps? I also liked the fact that they reference Valis yet again! I mentioned how important this reference was a few weeks ago, and it's reappearance in this episode seems to confirm that - as has most of the S4 episodes, for that matter. Phillip K would be proud. The tempest reveal was good, although it promised so much more than it actually delivered (a bit like the episode really). At first I thought that this would be the 'temple' that Alpert and the folks are at, but it seems not to be the case. The flashbacks were brilliant - so much juice in there, including the suggestion that Ben 'knew' Goodwin was going to die (powers of prediction - possibly related to the 'whispers' telling him stuff?), Ben being jealous of Goodwin and Jules' relationship, Ben being possesive over Jules - which actually helps me with one of my Jacob orientated theories ( ), Juliet being a home wrecker (hisssss) and a bunch of other stuff which is quite simply gold. Yeah, Ben has issues and he's a complicated man sweetheart![]() We also had some Jate/Jurke stuff which went something like blah blah blah blurgh..Kate gets whacked, Jack finds Kate, fixes her, Jules gets jealous and runs off, Jate follow Jules and Jack sides with Jules's 'word' and Jurke kiss and hugglezzz, wait till Kate finds out, boo-yeah.. Don't get me wrong the Jurke stuff is better than the Jate, but stop jurking me around and give me Pesmond! You know it makes sense So apart from that, a very good episode - thought Charlotte and Faraday were good also - despite the fact that I don't trust them as far as I could throw Hugo. Speaking of whom, what an hilarious scene when Ben came striding out of the house with the blankets. Lol, that split my sides..did you see Ben's lil' face grinning from ear to ear!? ![]() Man, I love that man. ![]() (Horse-shoe reference was also cute.)

Very strong episode, we needed some Jules and man did we get some. Let's face it, practically nothing could follow the Constant and I think the writer's recognised this and did really attempt to try to out do themselves; they just made a very good episode that would sit nicely anywhere in the season.
Jules, bless you, you should know it's wrong to steal another wife's man. I tut at you dear for that. I'm not going to go as far as to call you a homewrecker *wink, Roco, wink*, as it was clearly as much Goodwin, if not more, than it was Jules. Yes it was wrong but bless her she was all alone, she said it herself. And after all it was clear that Goodwin wasn't completely happy with Harper, who was a pretty big biatch and who can resist those twinkling blue eyes ![]() However Jules you may need to spend some time in Room 23 to get rid of your thoughts about Jack. You know better than that woman! Though Jack's "He knows where to find me" was pretty cool. Jack V Ben in boxing anyone?I love Charlotte! She's so kick ass and imagine my pleasure when Jules and Char started rolling around on top of each other Faraday can only be described as one word - 'cute'. As in little fuzzy kid cute.Ben wants a slap in the face. 'You're mine'!?! Who the hell does he think he is? Just because he has some sort of infatuation with her she's now his property? ( ) For shame Benjamin, for shame. Also it was nice to finally have the confirmation that Charlie Widmore is after the Island. Many of us had speculated it for quite a while so to see it confirmed was nice. As was the horse shoes scene, however it would be nice for Sawyer to beat Hurley at something. Or anyone at something for that matter. James, when Hurley challeneges you to a pie-eating contest don't do it! Overall a very pleasing episode with a very pleasing Juliet. Also how great were Juliet's boobs in this episode? ![]() The Other Woman - 8/10.

i enjoyed that episode. anything with the crash flashbacks are good in my books
and eesh Juliet! don't go pinching other people's men! although that cow Harper deserved it and it was cool to see Goodwin again. It would have been better if Ethan had popped up too, but heck we can't have everything It looked like Goodwin had a problem keeping it in his trousers though I bed he knocked up half of the pregnant women on the island ![]() And Charlie Widmore, tut tut tut you should know that kickin' people in the head doesn't get you information. Sayid certainly learnt that one. But I kind of saw that coming, so I wasn't too surprised. I wonder how Desmond will react when he sees that? ![]() And Ben!! Bunny-boiler anyone? I laughed when he was running around all cute when Juliet came over, then then went a bit when she was like 'Wasn't this a dinner party?' and he's like 'No, just you and me, I should have made that clearer' (you can tell he just said 'a few people are coming over tongiht' and she was like 'yeah, ben sure'-it's happened to me before and it's just weird) Stalker Ben is well creepy though. And his whole YOU'RE MINE!!! bellow really freaked me out. Poor Jules ![]() And uuuurrr Jacket I groaned at that scene. As lovely and heartwarming that is was (to others) I hate any Jack/Kate Jack/Juliet Sawyer/Kate Sawyer/Juliet Jack/Sawyer scenes. I suppose I'm just not much of a shipper. The only ones I could stand was Charlie/Claire and Penny/Desmond. Penny/Desmond is the only decent relationship. the rest are just too horny ![]() and LOL i bet Locke did feed Ben his rabbit ![]() 8/10

Didn't think it was that good, actually. Not really a Juliet fan so I found the flashbacks immensely boring. It's actually my lowest ranking of season 4 so far.
7/10 - I would've given it a 6 out of 10 but the Ana mention gave it one extra point. I love Ana mentions two seasons after shes died. ![]()

A bit of a downturn from last week, but that was only to be expected. It did have some intriguing moments. Primarily it had me fearing for Daniel's character, because I'm enjoying him rather a lot and I don't want to be turned off him at this stage, but I suppose it's still fairly open - like Jack, Kate and Juliet, I don't find it hard to imagine Ben using the gas in the same way he did before in order to eradicate the latest threat, especially seeing as he's already tried to kill one of the freighterites (even though he said they weren't his real enemies and that their boss was - poor little foot soldiers). But I don't find it enormously easy to trust the motives of the freighterites, that said. I do think Daniel and co are not particularly in the know, but they could be a little less cagey.
Otherwise, an interesting watch. |

I voted on Eggtown on a spur of the moment thing. If I were able, I'd actually rank them level now. If it wasn't for the Ana mention then this would be lower that Eggtown

Michael Emerson is such a good actor. If i was a girl i would be so creeped out by Ben
![]() Anyway, 'fraid to say Juliet annoys me. Im not sure if its the way she speaks, her general attitude, the fact that i just dont trust her, or her homewrecking tactics in this episode. She just seems like one of those women who plays men of against each other. 'Ben knows how i feel about you and hes coming to get us' please. Anyway, she just comes of as too clever for all this, suggesting to me she knows full well what shes doing. Did feel sorry for her after the 'your mine' thing, although i dont believe she loved Goodwin. Looks like we were all right about widmore, although i cant say i find Ben the most trustworthy source. Guess time will tell ![]()

Very good episode. It seems to me that so much happens, and yet not a lot. A nice twist on at the end and you dont really know whos on what side and whos working for the good of the island.I was annoyed by Juilets home wrecking stance but equally annoyed by Bens damn right creepyness - "your mine" type thing. that just scared the hell out of me. Well acted overall. Jack seems like becoming Juilets and Kates puppy dogs spoilt it but for once, Kate didnt annoy me. I quite enjoyed seeing her get thumped over the head.
