Im I the only one pondering if there is a connection between the two phrases somehow
. I admitt that this is a little far fetched and I havent thought this out properly yet, but could the "We have to go back" stuff mean that instead of going back to the island a few years after they left, but instead mean they have to re-enter their past concious in order to 'course correct' has it were? |

Good spot there esn. But one would assume they would be dead by now. Though perhaps there is more to this Conscience business than meets the eye, Perhaps not everyone winds up like Brandon and George [and Desmond for that matter].
It is possible that Jack and Kate are trapped in another time but the whole O6 plotline works against this theory, unless that particular Flashforward is a time where the O6 do not exist? What if they found a way to time travel like Eloise and remain STUCK in that time as opposed to unstuck?

thats what I kinda mean Reed. Its a difficult one to fathom at the moment. Im not suggesting that they currently are flashing forwards and backwards like Desmond was, but maybe they want to, but log on to thier constant on the island - hence their conciousness would have time travelled backwards (so to speak) and they are back thus enabling them to 'course correct'

But as I said prior, perhaps there is ALOT about this Constant theory we do not yet understand.

Nice idea - metaphorically speaking you're probably right, although on the downside it appears that Jack takes months, if not years, to unravel so much as to 'want to go back' (this was not the case with Des or George as it took them a shorter period to unravel). Also, if they were able to course-correct their past, then wouldn't the Universe deem this a paradox and tidy up behind them (i.e. do it's own bit of course correcting)?
I'm a believer in freewill, but freewill within the confines of fate, which basically means that you have freewill and the ability to change, but only in those moments which does not create and entirely 'new' path. But perhaps if they were able to re-enter their past consciousness and make slight amendments (rather than wholesale changes) then fate might overlook that - but then what would be the point, unless they simply wanted to create newer, better memories which wont necessarily change anything future wise, except giving them more hope, or whathaveyou. Still, an interesting catch and it's worth keeping an eye on this as future episodes may allow for expansion or a slight detour.
