Was this how Sayid knew the Italians name?

It cud well be. This episode makes you look at all the other in a slightly different perspective.
It cud hint strongly towards Ben use of 'time skipping'. He cud of said to Sayid you will be approached by Mr Italian guy on the gold course. This cud also be why he was so nancholaunt in killing a man in broad day light. I know it was quiet, but still, Sayid was relaxed.

Quite possibly, though I cannot see how anyone can really control their time travelling because Desmond did not choose to time travel nor which period he went back to. In The Constant it was simply dangerous time travel and not something anyone would WANT. So if Ben can time travel, has he found a way to control it?

I think Sayid was SO calm because it is in his nature - it is nothing new to him re: killing.

Did Sayid actually know the man's name? I thought the man told him his name.

I wud say to that, that Desmond experienced loose/uncontrolled radiation at the hatch implosion. We have seen Faradays machine, and that focuses it in a controlled manner. He picked a time to send her to.
Prob why Des has no control, cos he was blasted with uncontrolled radiation.

I think he knew his name, the guy looked surprised when he used it.

Good point re: the machine. Though even at that rate I presume a person has no control on how to return, unless Faraday's machine dictated the time in which Eloise was to return. Though who is to say Ben does not have a more advanced version of the machine as I would believe Faraday's was basic due to limited funding and knowledge.

I cannot remember tbh, I recall the man was shocked at hearing Sayid was apart of the O6 but I thought the man introduced his name.
